Depends on the gun, some are not recessed into the barrel at all but the bolt is. Think Ruger Mark I, II,III.

Looks like a good way to sell more barrels. Imagine increased barrel erosion caused by the hot jets of propellent gases coming throu the bullet ports.

You could legally build the reciever to an 80% or less complete and still be ok. He would have to do the finial finish work to make it an actual reciever.

Keep casting dont stop and put your mold down on the hotplate between casts your mold will stay hotter full of lead.

If you have an outside mic you could do impact slugs or cast's of your revolver's chambers and throats. Are you currently having accuaracy issues with you current loads? Also of alot of importance...

You could try shooting a few of the same bullets sized but not lubed then a few lubed ones to see if it is a inflight lube seperation problem. What lube are you using?

Keep a good casting rate going so the mold does not have too much time to cool between pores. Inspect bullets after your done not while casting.
