A small bunch of crumpled up newspaper works great for cleaning case necks. Just tear off a handfull, fold it over a few times, hold it between your thumb and a couple of fingers, and twirl the neck...
Here's a bit of 4198 info from the Reloaders' Reference program.

PS: anyone know how to get this site to accept portrait orinetation in photos?
Well, no pistol powder available, and didn't find any warnings about using very reduced loads with 4198, so went ahead and tried three rounds in two different rifles.
No filler, all fired with...
Turns out I don't have the 700X I thought I did. Did a bit more research and am wondering if IMR4198 would work with 158 gr wadcutters? They are lubed and measure .359", so that part works.

Thanks to all of you! Will get back with a report after I give this a try.

Bob anneals a regular 303 Br sizing die, bores out and polishes the neck section to resize for the 375 bullet, and hardens it again. I think he just bores out the seating die without needing to...
Thanks Larry. Not sure what TLing is, but I do have some 700X. :)
No doubt I'm going to feel like an idiot when you tell me what it stands for....

There is a fellow up here who has a 375/303Br reamer, and has barrelled up a number of Lee Enfield rifles. It is essentially a 38-55 magnum (intentionally with a small "m"), as it bests the original...
Just took a look at this great old thread on Mouse Fart loads for the 30-06. I found this post from Larry Gibson where he mentions using Bullseye,...

Then it should be able to also be formed from 300 Ultra Mag, right?

I know this is an old thread, but just came across this thread. Looks like 280 Ross brass can be formed from 300 Win Mag..... https://forum.nosler.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34393

Headed up to the range today to make a believer out of a new guy using cast bullets. Same 285 gr Northman plain base, cotton patch, and COW filler load as posted before, but shot in a different...

Now, why wouldn't that work? A lifetime supply of bullets for 30-312 cartridges!

You heat the tubing while holding it with small needle nose pliers, place it in the hot mold, close, pour, and what you see in the picture comes out.

My guess is that old Wayne was using the old H4831, similar to how old Barry used to do with his old 270.....

Friend of mine said he sometimes tinned the inside of the tubing to bond them, however never had one come apart in any of my barrels, and the tubing was not tinned.

They are accurate enough for hunting out to 300 yd. :)

Here are the latest 100 meter groups shot with the 285 gr Northman. Loaded one grain more CF8506, a half-inch square cotton towel wad, and COW to halfway up the neck.

This is my best trophy so far. Planning on heading to the hills in about two months to try this 285 gr cast 9.3X62 load at a bit over 2200 fps on a Spring bear.

Okay, gave it a try several times since my last post. Reformed some old Imperial 30-06 brass in one of my 9.3X62s, and did the first shooting while fireforming the brass. The bore was lead free...

Hi Molly,
Thanks very much for sharing your experience.
I am going to give this a try in one of my Husqvarna 9.3X62 rifles. The bore got pretty leaded up during initial load development two...
