I sold all my reloading about 2 years ago, got out of it altogether and moved. Wanna get back into it in a limited way. Trying to find business that sells six sided hollow point cast bullets. I...

I see no one has mentioned the 44wcf. Yep, the good old 44-40. 200gr to 240gr cast out to 100 yards. I like 4227 for the heavier bullet.
Also available in jacketed ammo but very pricey.
I...

I just got a 44 mag, M94 in a deal. Top eject, yadda, yadda. Made sometime in the 70's or 80's. SN is 3,XXX,XXX M
What does the M mean?

I'm glad you said this. Much better stated than I could. I shoot the Rem. Core-lokt 200gr in my 35 Rem in front of IMR 4064 powder. If I get about 1.5 at 100 yds I count it a great day. I keep...

DO NOT DISASSEMBLE
do not disassemble this rifle yourself. Take it to a gunsmith. Try flushing the bolt with gun scrubber and then use Federal 210 primers. That should cure the problem.

When it comes to this question, you'll get many answers.
While shooting cast, I prefer the Winchester. The rifling of the Winny is more conducive to cast.
Jacketed, then Marlin gets my nod. ...
Lordy, how did I miss these? I sure hope the quality on the CA's are up to snuff. I love the 45acp in my Smiff. Don't like messing wid the clips tho. So, generally I use AR's.

You have it figured right. The overall bullet length is the culpert. The Puma 92 is a clone of the Winchester 92 and as such the lifter starts to drop when you start to close the lever. To correct...

I have a Marlin, it appears to have started life as a 336 but has been cut to 17". The metal has been buffed so all lettering except the serial has been eliminated. 44mag/special while the front...

I strongly suspect your receiver is Cast and if I am right, then it won't take a blue. I had a 94, made in 76, that the bluing was off. Previous owner hunted with it and carried it by the receiver....

Kinda hard to tell. 6 months ago, I wudda sed yep! But today? The CAS folks prefer the 20" carbine version yet that calibre is the 2nd most used and they are always looking for the 45 rifle.

AOL runs my Netscape email site and half the time I can't open my email that deal with guns. Kinda suspected that that was deliberate.

MagTech makes and Midway sells the 158RN bullet and is a hollow based design which does quite well in my 38 S&W

They say brilliant minds think alike and so true. Lloyd loves the 44-40 and so do I. Hunt with it, carry it in a Colt and/or a USFA. Won't change.

I cast and load the RCBS 150gr FP w/check in front of 10.5 of Unique. Out to 150 yds, this accurate and hard hitting. Hunting and CAS. I have taken White Tail with this one. I believe that with a...

RCBS 150gr FP w/check in front of 10.5 Unique does quite well for me. However a 30wcf cast shud be put behind the ear or between the eyes.
I wouldn't reject a J Frame out of hand. If what your looking for a a CCW than J cud be a way to go, but if your looking for a carry gun while hunting, camping etc, thyen there are several Smith's...

Just a quick question on the bullet 42798 in the 44wcf. Whenever I have tried this bullet as recommended, I end up having one or more of them recoil back into the case while in the magazine tube. ...

Down here in S. TX. they are going about 30-35 cents a pound. 100lbs, 35$++++tax..:(
Another thing is that the Cowboy brass is supposed to have the same head diminsions as the 45lc.
Just load your 45 Cowboy brass to the same load as the 45acp and enjoy.
