I hate semantics. Yes its a Winchester, and it's made by Miroku, same as Brownings made by Miroku are still Brownings.

The Codymatics are done by Cody Conagher, very good Cowboy Action gunsmith. I have several Codymatic 73's all Uberti's. You can save by buying right from him website is The Cowboy Shop

Taylor and Company is just an importer, they do not manufacture any firearms. They import Uberti's, Chaiappa's, and several others. They sell some fine firearms.

.452 Dia. will work just fine. I have a brand new 24" Case Hardened Sporter I'm selling for $1375 plus shipping, jbarleycorn68@gmail.com if you are interested.

Yes, try a 147gr truncated cone (TC) bullet loaded to 357 length.

Get a pound of American Pioneer Powder (APP) you can use the bullets as is with the smokeless lube.

The actions on all three will be the same. The 73 is a toggle link action and no matter the barrel length the action will be identical.

I get buckets full for nothing at the local tire shop.

If you were to switch to APP you would no longer need to worry about bullet lube.
Forum: Black Powder Cartridge
I can get through a whole match using APP with no cleaning until the end of the day. Don't need BP lubed bullets either I just use the same bullets I use for smokeless.

44-40's are a pain to reload. Go with the 45 Colt.

No doubt the 73 because of the removeable side plates.

Put on of Slick McClade's sure hit sights on. It's a brass sleeve that will slide over your original sight. I have them on all my CAS rifles.
Ruger has eliminated the internal lock on the New Vaquero's. Good riddance!

Making your own black powder is an all around bad idea.

Get an Uberti 1873, they are competition proven.

That's simply not the case. The vast majority understand SASS is a for profit company that is selling "entertainment". SASS is currently in the exploration stages of becoming a Non-profit...
