You can buy them 432 already.
Polishing out a smaller die leaves a sloppy fitting post and lube squirting out everywhere. Ask me how I know...

Back in the day, I sized .410 215 gr LSWC down to .402 for use in a Springfield Omega I used for pin shooting. They were the most accurate boolits I ever shot from that gun... Less than 1" at 25...
I should've been more clear... My objection to WSF is the fact that it's a *Winchester* ball powder. To be fair, I've never used it. But I've used 296 and 680, and they are legendary for their...
Also... go here and do a search for WSF:

There's nothing listed for anything heavier than 230...
WSF and Herco are virtually tied on the Burn rate chart, and I use Herco extensively in the .45 ACP (and other things). I use 7.3 grs of Herco under a 230 gr Speer Gold Dot for a 980 fps max load......

Cast a bit softer... Like 18 bhn. That should tighten groups with a lighter charge.

Sounds like my situation is fairly typical... I'll just wait it out.... Thanks guys!

So I ordered a mold from Mihec, and tracking indicates it's been hung up in customs for almost a week now:

For those of you who've ordered molds from...

There's more there than than meets the eye... The 130 was preferred, but not because it was more accurate--one was as good as the other--but because it was lighter and could be shot with a lighter...

Back in the day the hot bullet for use in the 1911 in Bullseye matches was the H&G 68, and to a lesser extent, the RCBS 201, and a couple of similar moulds from Lyman. My question is-- The guys that...

One of the deputies has a Kimber Elite Pro as an off-duty carry gun. (The Elite Pro is an alloy framed, commander sized 1911 that has been given the full contour butter treatment by Kimber.) ...

I've been really busy with the shop this year so I haven't had much opportunity to cruise here lately, but I saw this post and couldn't resist the opportunity to drop some 1911 porn on ya...

Something that works even better:
I did a little investigating into solvents and their ability to penetrate, and sparing you the chemistry lesson, I found that MEK is actually better than acetone....

Before I spent any time or money on it, I'd see if I could get the barrel off without breaking anything. Springer barrels are put on with the Right Hand of God™ to start with. Add rust, and it gets...
That's true in the purest sense, but anodizing typically includes application of a sealer over the dye. So you'll want to stay away from anything that's got acetone, MEK, etc. Stick to the oil...

Delrin is the brand name. The Generic term --the one you want to use when searching catalogues-- is "acetal." Enco has it by the stick for cheap.
As noted above, it's easily machined and quite...
It's been a while since I've done a DW action, but I remember the parts as cast, not sintered. But these were Palmer and Monson guns. I don't know what CZ is using; they could very well be MIM...

So do I. This particular specimen, a S&W model 19-2, cost the customer $150. Assuming typical Ruger service revolver finish (lots o' grind marks), your gun would probably run closer to $200 by...

Indeed. Recently I was talking to a gentleman who had purchased a Ruger No. 1 pull-off barrel from me. He was putting it on a Ruger 77. It seems the gentleman likes to build M77s with No. 1...
No, that's the rough, exposed edge of the thread in the receiver where the barrel screws through. It looks worse than it is due to the accumulation of blast crud.
Indeed. The 4227 powders...

The Ruger action screws should by Nyloks, that is, the screws should already have nylon patches on the threads which serve as thread lockers. If not, Permatex blue, very sparingly applied, will...

That's the money quote... If you disassemble the latch mechanism, you'll see peening there, too. I've worked on many Ruger single actions afflicted with this ailment, and not one of them was due...

I bought a Winchester/Miroku model '92 short rifle in .44 Magnum years ago. I loved it. It shot great, it had a silky smooth action, and I was having so much fun with it that I was beating it up in...
