For modest cleaning I just oil with ballistol and run a bore snake through but if it's really fouled I'll just take the bolt out. On a marlin it's just one bolt that has to be removed

I think in order to fully test your hypothesis you should back up to 100 yards

I've been meaning to get a 50bmg upper for a special AR build but that hasn't happened yet. I have a 357 desert eagle so eventually I'll get a conversion kit to 50 AE. I might be getting a 50-70 soon

If you're loading for .380 I really wouldn't worry about trimming the cases

Why even use a bullet at all? Use some pistol powder in the case or whatever you have on hand. Fill with wheat germ and then plug the case with a bit of soap. May need to he done more than once but...
