Just trying to stretch my wheel weight buckets farther. He gives $.07/ lb for zinc and steel wheel weights.

He may give an extra nickel for clean zinc, but I'm not certain. If there were a quicker way to get more for it, I'd do it.

Anyone use their smelting cast iron for zinc? Or should I go to the thrift store and buy a cheap steel pot? Have about 30 lbs I will be putting into banana bread tins and selling back to the scrap...

Never come across them. They must be similar to the gray painted stick ons if the hardness is like clip ons.

.7% antimony

This was 99%+ jacketed.

If you got good slugs right away, it may not be the lead. Could it be unburned bees wax?

You say you just let it smoke? When I flux mine, the smoke ignites and burns all the wax or flux off.
