I picked up my made in 1911 26" octagon barreled 1892 Win i 25-20 almost exactly a year ago for 500 bucks on Gunbroker. I was the only bidder. Nice gun in good condition

I have an 1895 CBA the 18.5" version of the cowboy model and the express sight does work on mine but it is borderline. It depends on the bullet and load but so Far I've been able to make it work

I have a made in May 2019 Marlin CBA the carbine version of the CB and I absolutely love this gun. I only have 100 cases of brass and yesterday I finished off the 3 rd round so I guess 300 rounds...

I just recently bought a made in May 2019 Marlin CBA. It's the 1505" barrel version of of your gun. Fit and finish is very nice. I installed a RPP loading gate and skinner sights and did some...

I have a Sinner receiver sight on my Marlin CBA but I am going to try the Marble Bullseye sight on one of my 92's and if I like it I might just put one on my Marlin also. Here's a quick vid on one....

If I got some tin and antimony I could cast 192,500 400 grn boolits for my 45-70. Imagine how many I could get for my 25-20. I also cast for 45 Colt and 30-30. I wouldn.t have to look for lead for a...

1895 Marlin CBA in 45-70. Dandy little rifle
Forum: Leverguns
I noticed that with my 1895CBA in 45-70 but I don't have any other ballard rifled Marlins to compare it to. Shoots my cast boolits just fine

I have 2 45 Colt lever guns and one revolver,. I also have a marlin 1895 18" barrel in 45-70. If it came down to one lever rifle I would keep the 45-70. Very versatile round with a rich history. The...

I shoot that boolit un-sized in my Marlin and it seems to do OK so far at 25 yds. I'm shooting a mild load of 26.5 grns of IMR 4895. I haven't taken it down range yet but I will soon-maybe tomorrow....
My 45-70 casting days would be over! For light loads you might want to look at Trail Boss. Gives very good case fill and low recoil

My 405 grn 2 cavity Lee mold will overheat fairly quick. I just lower the pot temp, slow down my casting, and use a fan to cool down the mold. Just a second or 2 with an open mold in front of the fan...
I'm awaiting the arrival of my first 45-70 and reduced loads will be my first priority. Don't have the rifle yet but I have the dies. brass and bullet mold. I'm casting boolits for it today

Actually it's .0075 cents a pound. If I could buy 2000 lbs of lead for 15 bucks I'd do it any day. One pound of lead will give you 70 100 grain bullets

Cast 400 Lee 309-150GC bullets and started crimping on gaschecks. Enough for a Sunday afternoon

Thanks for all the replies! I'll get it figured out-I don't even have the rifle yet. Good info!

I am soon to receive a JM 336 30-30 and was planning on shooting cast bullets. I posted this on the Marlin site also. This is a Gunbroker purchase and won't receive it until later next week. However...

Nice Gun!! I love the old ones. What's it chambered in?

That's what I do with my Lee molds but I understand that the steel and iron molds take longer to heat up
Yup-I have that boolmarked on my computer and refer to it offen
Thanks again for the replies! As per my last post I did get the 85 grain Missouri bullet to shoot nice groups but with a light load. What gets me is 2 identical bullets except the lube/coatings. and...
Well-I haven't given up on these bullets. I'm working with Meister and Missouri 85 grain bullets. They're identical in every way except the Meister bullet is conventionally lubed while the Missouri...
