Jerrows inletting black is what I've used for 40 years. A little tip, just put a small dab on a sponge you have in a soap dish, pour in a little motor oil. Then use a brush to apply to the metal. ...

I would say one of the most important things to have on hand if you are going to checker is a large bottle of whiskey. Brand is your choice.

For example, here are two stocks i built. I used the liquid Pro Custom oil from start to finish. This is the sheen I wanted but I could have easily done them with less sheen or more. Top stock is...

I use a lot of the Pro Custom oil liquid, you can't beat me hard enough to make me use TruOil. Pro custom oil is not so thick and sticky and will allow you to rub in final coats which I thin...

Finally remembered to get mine out yesterday and confirmed what I thought I remembered. The ejector in mine is NOT a part of the magazine, but instead it is a separate part in the unit and...

They certainly aren't what we are used to for years. Seems like everything I need is out of stock. Recently I needed a Brownell steel grip, ordered it. Received it in short order only to find out...

I've used lots of Pilkingtons and Brownells equivalent, couldn't tell much difference. They were both rather unforgiving. Then I discovered Laurel Mountain's version and haven't used anything else...

By the way, screws are the same. trigger guard on a post 64 is wider as is the part just in front of the floorplate. Both just need to be reshaped as does the floorplate. No big deal, just time....

I just finished cobbling together a pre 64 Mod 70 for a simple shooter. Didn't want to spend the money to buy pre 64 bottom metal, I used post 64 which took quite a bit of filing but doable. The...

If you are just repairing a scratch or two, I wouldn't do a complete refinish. Maybe a little stain and a little finish. Just put a dab of finish on and wipe it off fairly soon with with palm of...
I've never Ransom Rested either that would shoot a 10 shot group under 3" right out of the box. 25 yard groups mean nothing to me so I've never tried that distance out for an accuracy measurement. ...
Given the parameters, I agree with the Frog. However, there are other pistols I would buy before I bought either the Gold Cup or Kimber for Bullseye use.
