I am ready to conquer the wheel weights!
Interesting that these are very old (maybe 20 years+) and there are darn few zincs in it.
I am estimating 100lbs mixed in a 5lb bucket, I...

I used the same Lee 20 lb drip-o-matic pot for 30 years. I have to say dollar for dollar, they can't be beat. I finally decided to get the ProMelt and did so. The Lee has been mothballed and is...

My exercise is starting too. Spring time yard work, stacking 9 cords of wood, and prepping the 35x35 garden.
Starting slow and working my way up.

I have well over a ton of wheel weights to smelt. These are probably 20+ years old and back in the day I had a friend sell his tire shop and give me all I wanted for FREE!
I think I took way more...

If they use payment methods that are not scam protected, like a credit card, it is a scam. Period.

Here in NH winter is hardly over. Almost 60 today, but March and early April can have some nor'easters with heavy snow.
That's just the way it rolls here.
I recall April 15th (tax day - that's...

Settled this - I ordered a Lee 223 sizer die and 3 extra decapping rods.
No more broken/missing decap pins for me!

Just got notification of a friend's passing. The first couple I got to know when I moved here to finish school at UNH.
It makes one reflect about the time remaining.
Make the most of it,...

I have navigated the intricacies of NFA and estates without a trust.
The paperwork is already filled out so they will transfer to him upon my death with no tax paid.
Need the original Form 4 and...

I use a Dillon 550 with a toolhead with a single 223 sizer/decapper to process all my .223 brass.
I probably need some psychological help, but I seem to enjoy the brass prep.
Losing/breaking a...

I have a ton of 223 brass that I am prepping.
I have lost two decap pins to an undersized flash hole with one particular headstamp of brass.
Until I get this sorted out, I am sorting the brass and...

That's a very interesting question. I read the obits every day and see who has bought the farm that I know.....too many of them I would add.
I'm 75, still working 2 jobs (self employed for 40 years...

Quiet classical when reloading. I agree that you want to hear and feel the Dillon 550 to make sure all is well.
Usually a ball game (GO CELTICS!) or talk when doing case prep.

You are not the first to tell me that. An old timer told me 5:1 was Lyman hard cast equivalent. Maybe or maybe not, but it works for me.
I DO have a rich supply of lino.
I have some 75 lbs (3...

Same here - these ww's are 15+ years old and I have found not too many zinc and even fewer steel.
I will not lack for anything to do in the future - just sorting them all into lead only will take a...

Does anyone have any info on Magma Engineering - the makers of the Star Sizer.
It appears they have closed their doors.
Fact or fiction?
Web site says good bye.

Spent some time each night last week sorting out ww's from my stash. I now have 2 5 gallon buckets of lead ww's ready to smelt into ingots.
I estimate there are about 150 lbs of lead ww's in there....

Exactly my conclusion.
I'll be smelting off and on for the next few years.
Kind of comforting to know they are there.

Funny you should mention that.
I am heading towards slowing down a bit (at 75 I guess it is time - been self-employed for 40 years)
I debated when I took inventory and started this sorting project...

Kind of like picking up brass. I have probably 20,000 223 brass in 5 gallon buckets....more than I will probably use in my lifetime....but I still pick it up at the range. Same with 9mm....and...

I have blown up two guns in my days. It happened with a double charge of 231 in 9mm. I figured out why - an unprocessed military case on a Dillon 550,...
