I agree! The "magic velocity" for most of my guns is around 1300 FPS. I GC all loads going faster.

I would avoid the use of Red Dot powder for anything other than very light target loads in revolvers.

Stick to 2400, H110, 296, 4227, 1680, 4198 etc for your rifle loads.

I've used tons of steel cased ammo and it hasn't hurt any of my guns. I believe that the "reputation" of steel cased ammo being hard on guns is an old urban myth.

I have used this procedure in the past. But when you load 2500 to 3000 rounds in an evening, it becomes impossible to clean them all in this manner.
