I currently have 30 mosin-nagants of different flavors and have had and sold several others.
I slug all of them and have found bores varied from a true .308...

and sideplate thickness of .125 + or - .005

I once read an article in the Garand Collector's Association journal that in the area where "Combat" was filmed in the 1960's they found many 30-06 cases that had been cut down.
