I have a gewehr 88 commission rifle with a really bad barrel.
Anyone know of any rebarrelers in Canada?

20 gauge but only for grouse. I have a 12 gauge for ducks and geese.

Lee 312-160 sized to .309 with 24 grains of 3031 is quite accurate and mild shooting in my K31

Load some up and shoot it. It may clean up. Worked for my GEW88.

25 grains of 3031 seems to work well with my plain based 205's in my Enfields (and the Mosin)
No chrono so no idea of velocity numbers

Donated with pleasure again Wonderful sight with great people.

I noticed a few of my Lee sized brass being tough to close on my Gew88 as well. Have not researched it yet to see what my issue is yet.

I love it when one of my "old" milsurps groups better with cast than my friend's "magnums"

If the case isn't centered in the case holder it will wobble

Need to follow this, I have an 1891 Comission rifle with a pretty bad barrel that will hopefully still shoot some light cast loads.

I have both Lee and NOE molds. Both work well for me. NOE offers molds with a plain base bullet which is why I got them. Lee handles work on my 2 cavity NOE molds with no problems.
Have fun

Just a quick touch to the sander, not removing much. Blurs the head stamp enough and used for light plinkers only, primers sit flush still.

Puts a big smile on your face when it all comes together doesn't it?
Then to the next rifle!

Easy to buy but I have bags of 06 brass. Got my dies on Saturday and it is an easy conversion from 30-06 to 8x57. I take my brass to the sander to wipe the head stamp down.

No problems with it(purchased both empty and loaded)

To save money!
So much for that but I do shoot way more now
Like a lot more lol

I just started this fall, 13 grains of 4227 did not cycle the bolt fully, 14 grains does(reasonably accurate)
Never made past that(winter arrived)
Using the the Lee 160 mold

How sharp should the rifling be in this barrel?
I see a consistent rifling all the way thru but it is very faint and rounded
Forum: Military Rifles
Bore is pretty cruddy, currently undergoing electrolysis to try and clean that rifling if there is any lol
Might end up with an 8mm commission shotgun

It arrived yesterday, pretty good condition for a 126 year old rifle (Loewe 1891)
Stripped down easily, small bits got cleaned in the ultrasonic tank at work.
Lots of elbow grease for the barrel...

Might shave some lead when you load those ;)

I was looking at various Mausers in 8mm but I came across this rifle instead. I already have Swedish and Brazilian Mauser. Variety is nice.

I read about the 35's ,very nice rifle Buckshot. Mine has the barrel shroud still, odd looking but I like that.
