I had to put a Malcolm style scope on my 45-70 roller. I shoot to 1000 yards and I just can't see well enough any more. The scope allows me to keep on shooting long range BPCR.

Depending on your gun and mission, WW metal is fine with black powder. Especially for SASS distances. For long range BPCR I recommend 25:1 lead:tin alloy.

Leading shouldn't be a problem with...

I suspect any good telephoto camera lens would work. The trick is, getting an eyepiece adapter. Give B&H a call and put up with the phone tree. They can give you the advice you seek....

For a spotting scope, use the lens at maximum aperture. For more depth of field, stop it down a little, but expect a dimmer image. FWIW, in some conditions a polarizer may be beneficial.
