I had a NOE copy of the RD 45 cal 425 gr. Did not like it to much. Check out Accurate molds, I would think he can make what you want or recreate a design. He may already have something in the catalog...

I have thought about using a 8 or 10" pvc pipe. Cap the back end and maybe file down the cap up front thinner or figure something else out for the bullet to enter. Or the plastic empty coffee cans...
The RCBS 45 405 is a good choice. Accurate molds has a 46 405R. A copy of the RCBS but with a .33 meplat.

Try Varget, 46 gr works for me in a Marlin with a 500 gr NOE, 1640 fps. I don't remember where I took the data from (Lyman 49th?). I wrote it down at the store, but I have 45 gr as 16,700 cup.
Zero at 125 yards. 48.8 gr of H4895, 400 gr Accurate boolit 46 405R at 1730 fps. 60-40 stick on clip on ww, heat treated. Should be great for antelope. I used that alloy on deer last year. Left nice...
Im going to take my marlin 45 70 antelope hunting this year. I'm 7" low at 200 yards but I should be able to get closer being patient. We have almost tripped over a few of them. We can usually get it...

I have been back and fourth on the Rossi, good quality or bad? I want one in 357 for the kids. Have not heard to much bad lately.

If you look at post #17 I believe it is a flat nose that has expanded on the far right. I'm one for matching your alloy to the game. I do like flat noses and they can be made to expand alot or...

My marlin is shooting two inches to the left at 120 yards with a reciever sight. At 200 I am six inches to the left. I already have some adjustment to the right used in the rear sight. Is three times...

I have 2 Remingtons, good pictures and battery life. I like the infared option so the flash don't scare the animals. I'm not looking to put the pictures on the wall just let me know what's out there,...

1800 fps is not hard to achieve with accuracy. Zero at 125 yards I'm 7" low at 200. I use H4895 and get two inch groups at 200 yards with a reciever sighted Marlin 1895. Work on the load and you...

I have been loking for comparisons on my results. Thanks for the info Tatume. I could not get my boolit pics focused like yours for nothing. I found an article about a cast .35 cal 200 gr FN boolit....

The recovered boolits weighed 366 and 370 gr, from 395 as cast. I think I may put in another half pound of pure? last year I used 60 /40 stick on clip on ww wd. It was to soft for me. This time I...

Marlin 1895 45 70, Accurate mold 46 405 R. Alloy was 9.5 lbs #2, 1 lb pure. Air cooled bhn about 13. Muzzel velocity 1730 fps. Boolits expanded 1/2" to 5/8" depending how you measure it across the...

Think of every question you can write them down and take notes while on the phone. This has been my method for a while, like an interview. Many ranches advertise big areas to hunt but may be broken...

And I almost saw a hunting show! What a joke these hunting shows have turned into. Nothing but advertising and pluging product during the hunt. After the shot they smile for the camera, instead of...
Smoke 73 where are you getting your data from? I am not having any luck finding info like this.
Again....there is nothing hard about reloading, but it is a dangerous thing to do if you go about doing it haphazardly and without due caution AND knowledge. That aint no kidding! Thanks for the...
Nfg the interest is there. Thanks for sharing. Is there a book out there that goes over any brass shotshell reloading? I have a few magazines and the double gun journal I'm going over now. I wanted...
