Hello David,
Great buck Dr.! I really enjoyed looking at your album and all those wonderful bucks. Your farm looks very nice too.
Our one week early muzzleloader season is over but it is...
I picked up some 10-32 screws today. As I looked at the selection I had a thought to try Phillips head screws rather than so that's what I bought. No 10-36 set screws though. The clerk even got the...
For years I have been switching the lock screw that holds the cutoff pivot screw in place. I am down to one and would like to get a half dozen or so to replace all the old, cracked or missing screws....

Dragon813gt,
I was waiting for someone that knew Boone's home state. I used to shoot silhouette at the Oley club. Did you shoot there too?

I use 3031 in two different Marlins using a variety of cast bullets. From the lightweight Ranch Dog 235 gr. to a Rapine that weighs 265 gr. and using charges from 28 gr. to 33 gr. I've found heavier...

I have the ancestor of the 375 Win, a 38-55 Marlin bought new around 2002. To date I have almost 5700 bullets through it of which all but 16 were cast. So your 2000 bullet stockpile is a good start...

I use some nickel plated cases in 30-06 and often wonder whether I would be able to see signs of incipient head separation on them. While the brass beneath the surface surely would I have no idea...

Many the shotshell primer I have dropped, in the dark, from a treestand. How should I expect to hold onto and orient correctly a 210 rifle primer? Or are these pre-loaded in a removable breech plug...

I like and use RCBS dies. I also use Lee Factory Crimp dies and Collet neck-size dies. I have one pistol cartridge factory crimp die. A 357 sold by Ranch Dog, without the carbide sizing ring, which...

One cool morning this month I cast 450 of the Ranch Dog 379-250FN mould, a pre-production mould for evaluation. That may be all the casting until fall.

Peace to you and your family and your brother. Prayers for all.
Redding makes tapered 38-55 moulds, or at least they used to. I can't recall any particular type of bullet and i don't have their link in my computer.

Chief,
Congratulations on the fine, cast bullet buck. Looks to me that you broke some shoulder bones. No tracking I assume which is perfect. Is that a 44 Mag.?
I have shot more deer with cast...
That bullet works well in a Contender 32 H & R barrel. TC used 30 cal barrels on their 32 H & R's. I shot many hundreds of those 115's with a light charge of Unique. Very accurate bullet too.

The last issue of "The American Rifleman" had an ad by Winchester for two M 94's, a 30-30 with a 20" barrel and a 38-55 with a 24" barrel. I really don't know but I would bet that both will have the...
