would 1 in 18 work for round ball too?
Forum: Gunsmithing Tips & Tricks
I'm currently stocking up tools and materials for an under hammer pistol
I want to use the round ball and conical molds I already use for my rifle, so I'm looking to match the bore and groove...
I'm afraid you're a little late to the party, had my press set wrong.
I'll make a small run and give these a try, if they work, I've got a fair few. if not, I'm only out a couple bucks in shot and powder

looks... like a reload
the ones I was doing before weren't going to the center.
there is another option though

one on the left *is* a gold medal
the right one is the type in question
I got out the grabber press and got the crimp die adjusted, they crimp fine now. that just leaves the question, what are they?
nothing I can do about that unless I can turn off gravity
you know it would be nice if they just labeled the darn things
Lyman's doesn't show anything close except gold medal

I dont want to replace it or send it to someone to repair it
*I* want to repair it, I thought a bullet casting forum would be up for that kind of self sufficiency
isn't that an eye doctor? i'm not sure that would help
I moved recently and while unpacking my gun stuff I came across my weaver j2.5 scope. the bell was dented and the lenses were damaged.
I really like this little scope and would rather it worked

good eye, thats a small patch of surface pitting. If I have to I'll break out the good files and some spring steel.
now that I think about it, didn't husqvarna make a 32-20 in a 71 action? model 25?
Forum: Single Shot Guns
I'm not quite sure what I'll do with it yet, but that schilling looks like a good place to start. if it wasn't case hardened, I'd consider doing some engraving
Forum: Single Shot Guns
thats closer, but its far to crude and plain for a schilling

the color case hardening was done by the smith, I have no idea what the original finish was
Forum: Single Shot Guns
I bought a rifle action off a gunsmith
it looks like a small g71 action without the disassembly screw
it's got German proof marks, crown B and crown U, the serial number 6, with VI on most of the...
