I'm having a hard time finding a 12 ga discarding sabot wad that would hold a 44 cal projectile to use in a rifled barrel ...the reason for 44 cal vs 50 cal is I have a good supply of 44 mag bullets...

Resurrection.. just to add my experience... I use both the Lee 356 124 tl 2R and the Lee 356 125 2R the Lee 125 runs without a problem in all 9s... the 124 tl design does exactly what the OP...

Have used mine with Lee 312-155 ( weigh in at 162g) powder coated and GC in reduced loads using BE.. RD... 700x at round 1100-1200 fps with good results out to 100 yards .. and had lots of fun...

It was said ..Birchwood Casey Brass black.... I clean and use ultra fine grit sandpaper on the lower inch of the case then dip in into the solution ... it takes much better on the roughed up...

Without a doubt salvage the shot. The non-lead shot is reusable for shotshells . The lead shot will melt in the pot.
