If you are going to toy with BP and primarily load smokeless powder I recommend the 500. I'm not sure how much BP you can get in there maybe 65 grains but it will certainly be safer than Smokeless...

Handling and balance are great, accuracy on par with my previous 6.5" model.

HS-6 13-14 grains pushes 330 grain to 400 grain bullets right in the 1100 FPS category. I'll keep some unique around but HS6 is now my go to powder.

Is it a double rifle? For carrying around and hunting a groove diameter billet may be a better choice since it will be a tighter fit in the case.

There is a line about a third of the way up the bullet from the base, is that where the little ring of paper comes from?

I'm pretty sure Elmer Keith wrote about loading FMJ bullets backwards for use on game. I doubt swapping ends with a 150 grain FMJ in a 30-06 would make much difference pressure wise.
