I have a 316 dia Polish Mosin Nagant that needs a...
I plan on welding a couple bolts to the bottom of an old pot the bots will hold on a salvaged burner from an old electric stove, the thermostat will also be salvaged and mounted in a lectronic...

I wonder if a blend of powders could be used. Like adding 25% molly, mixing, then applying/baking. Would greater lubricity resault? Would the powder coat still bond? What about a HD PE plastic...

Would it be possible to manufacture the staples from welding rod?

Any suggestions for the diameter of punch for a .44 cal?
Sorry for the hijack.

My idea was to make the "staples" from heavy gauge body metal folded and bent into a 'Y' or 'T' shape. Then braze weld them onto the barrel the way Eroarms did.
I only need to make 1. The one pin...

I am rebuilding an old Euroarms "Kentuckian" and would like to put her back together with traditional wedges instead of the 3/32 pins.
I need to know how they bare against the stock.
If someone out...

This looks like the kinda thing I need for my over size Polish M44.
A .316" with a HP & GC would bee cool......But I must addmit to being illiterate to all the technical terms used here.

I was trying to load a 165gr 32-40 bullet sized to .316" so I could get the .001" over bore.
My m-n did not like that arrangement so I'm forced to go bore dia only. .315" is all I can get away with,...

I've heard of guys lubing cases for resizing with a pill bottle full of #9 lead shot and a tablespoon of powdered graphite. Just dip and size.
Could this be used here as well?
Or molly?
Forum: Boolit Lube !
I always thought the grease sealing the chambers on a C&B revolver was enough lube. Just getting into a flintlock muzzle loader. Was hoping to see something about making the pre-lubed patches here....

My dad made one from a piece of galvanized plumbing pipe (1 1/2" I think) a 10" spike, a large washer and a piece of leather to go over th washer as a seal.
He melts his ingredients in a small...

It seems to me that a good cutting board/cropping board would be the ideal way to cut these patches.
Anyone ever use a cigarette rolling paper as the patch?

Mine came from a friend of my dads that recently passed. He used it as a decoration in his house! Only thing wrong with it is a coating of dust.
I have some questions for you about your Kentuckian....
Forum: Muzzleloading.
I just got a hold of one too.
I was wondering if a 200ish gr. Pistol bullet would work if adequately sized and lubed.
I'm thinking along the lines of Lyman #452460, #452374, or maybe even...

Okay I have some new information. It is a Kentuckian by Euro arms.......now I see that others have been using either a .429 or .433 patched round ball with about 70gr. FFFg BP. But I'm wondering if...

Isn't that a bit heavy? 475gr .457 seems a bit big for a 451 bore flintlock to me?!
The Greenhill formula tells me optimum length of bullet for this bore to be in the. 7/8 length...

So my father recently picked up a 45 cal flintlock with a 36" barrel and about a 1:35 twist barrel.
I'm trying to figure out weather its a round ball gun or a conical bullet gun.
Any ideas? Also...

Privi is my favorite 762x54R brass.....unfortunately BELL is the Canadian importer of privi partizan and has delved deeper into herbal remedies rather than ammunition.

Cut the pin short and peen the edge of the hole to prevent loss. This would allow the pin to still rotate within the hole.
A hole drilled and tapped down vertically through the bolt retainer lug....
