You said you were looking for a flintier. No one said anything about percussion!
I just thought, in the mean time, learning on one you didn't have much money into could be instructive, and the...

While you are working up to the "keeper" rifle, you might check a few pawn shops.
They will often have a few that never sell and while they may not be great, the low price, (talk them way way...

This is very true. As a stand alone statement, it holds up very well.
However, all 22rf ammo, both Standard velocity and Hi-velocity (except the hiper velocity) operate in the Trans-sonic range....

I think the classic Winchester and Remington Standard Velocity are Supersonic. They list there product both at 1150 fps.
CCI lists at 1070
The Tippmann I had lists 1050
Aguila at 1085

100% agree.
JSIZEMORE, Keep in mind the 22rf targets are made of very thin steel. The 22rf targets, even though they are the (large) 1/2 size target, they are much thinner than the 1/2 size...

I have more than one lead pot so I can dedicate each pot for the alloy needed but I do empty them now and then and simply pour them out over the top (side) into ingot molds. Just like pouring out a...
For Lyman, look on ebay and check Brownells if you haven't yet.
I have no experience with the Willians, sorry.

I play the 22rf lever rifle silhouette game. About 25 years worth. The CCI standard velocity are a very good choice and much better than the Mini Mags. For those of you that don't know, it is a 100...

Here is the picture of the ones I make.

That mold has been very good in my Carbine. I would like to find a rifle (length) replacement for shooting lever silhouette.

"a ringed barrel approximately 1-1/4” in front of the rear sight"
Ooops! It clearly said rear sight but in my mind, I saw front sight. I'll go sit in the corner now.

You can also have it cut back and re-crowned.
I have a Colt 25 ACP. I have dies and a mold. 15 or 20 years, I have not even started to reload the empties.
Feel free to pass along any tips to load the littlest semi-auto.

Additional data added:
Bullets sized to 0.452"
The first diameter I expanded the sized cases to 0.452" and as expected, it did not show any bullet reduction. I did this as a baseline.

I think that it is possible that in some cases, the factory die set expanders put too much “squeeze” or neck tension, on the cast bullets we often use, reducing the diameter smaller than optimal for...

Yes. When that bullet gets where it is going, that is a combination that will move a lot of meat out of its way. Something like it was killing big buffalo when the first cartridge rifles came on the...

That is a puzzle. Maybe cut with Tool Steel. Hmmm, ......not sure.

Have fun. You will do fine.
Having done the same, I found that there are many right ways to do it, but if you more or less have equal or more parts Tin to Antimony in the mix, the bullet will hold...
That is my bullet and powder choice for my Rem. 700 Classic too. It has been very good in both accuracy and killing power.
I'm not Doug, but mine pined 0.429" pass, 0.430" hold. one held 0.429" Maybe it would be more accurate honed out. Not sure.
As said, the trigger is as good (very good) as anything I have or...
It is not a problem, (really!) but I wasn't asking for loading data as much as wondering if "Universal Clays" had a good track record for accuracy in the 45 Colt. See post #1, paragraph 1, last...
