Good to know that others also wear comfortable old hunting clothes.
Occasionally, while out in the fields, we run into a hunter/hunters that look like they just walked out of a Cabela's catalog...

Eight years ago, I shot a doe antelope in Wyoming with RCBS 180FN and 26 grains of SR4759 from a 30-06 sporterized Springfield 03-A3. Clean one shot kill at 110 yards. The RCBS 180FN is pretty...

- While Bison are good to eat, and do need some "herd thinning', I think it is hard to consider shooting a standing Bison to be "HUNTING." They are mostly a docile animal most interested in simple...

I "think" that many years ago the IDEAL bullet mold company was sold/absorbed by LYMAN? Is this so? What year did this occur?
RCBS molds seem identical to old LACHMILLER molds. Did RCBS...

Does the NEI company still make cast bullet molds? If not, when did they cease?

I BUY THE "M-DIE" for volume reloading (pistols and .30 cal. rifle), but also use a tapered punch for lower volume reloads. Tap the tapered punch with a light hammer. Not as consistent, but works...

I've reloaded .38 Super for many years. I don't see any difference in the actual brass; and have reloaded both to the same velocity.
My experience is that plain base .30 caliber rifle bullets do well up to about 1,100 fps. If the velocity is much higher, the gas check version are more accurate.
Since it is a low-number early...

I have had several cheap Chinese folding pocket knives "break" the folding or hold-open mechanism. It is easy to just add a wad of epoxy to convert them into fixed blade knives. Then, I use them in...

For several years I shot a Remington Model 788 chambered for .308 Winchester with cast bullets, It was very accurate. In a moment of temporary foolishness, I sold it. I wish I had it back.
I've used this bullet in both 30-06 and 308W rifles. Best accuracy results when I seat the bullet "out" to just barely tough the rifling.
My favorites are the 30-06 and 308 Winchester. There isn't very much difference between them, and both perform well with cast bullets.
My Lyman and LEE ingot molds are both 20 years old, and still working well.

I had very poor results with 22 centerfire cast bullet loads. 3" groups at 100 yards was the best I could do.. It is much easier to get good results with ,30 caliber cast bullet rife loads. I gave...

My airweight S&W 42 snub is painful to shoot with full power .38's. For practice I download the Lee 125 round nose to about 600 f.ps. For EDC, I use hotter loads.
