I have used the 358495 cast from wheel weights with great results. Typically weighing close to 148 grains. Loaded over 3.0 grains Bullseye it shot groups of 1.5 inches at 25 yds from a 6-inch...

I have used the 121 grain 358242 in 38 special with excellent results. In recent years Lyman changed the 358242 to 356242. I'm not sure whether this new designation also reduced bullet diameter...

Bullseye, Unique, 231 and 700X work well with this bullet in 38 special.
Since 1978 I have dealt with the Lyman Customer Service department 3-4 times. Each time was satisfactory.
My experience has been with Lyman 4 cavity moulds. I alternate nearest to farthest and vice versa to help the heat balance in the mould.

I've been reloading since 1979 and I have never seen a load in 45 ACP beyound a 260 gr Keith SWC. I believe that load was around 6 grains of Unique for bowling pin competition. If I remember...

I have had 2 good experiences with RCBS customer service, but that was about 10 years ago.

A friend of mine used Lee powder measures with his Dillon 550 with great success.

While lubing most pistol brass is unnecessary with carbide dies, lubing the brass just makes the operation smoother. I knew one commercial loader who did exactly that and he claimed that he had...

I have RCBS and Lee dies for both pistol and Rifle. The Lee dies are just fine, no problems.
I believe that most of the major American ammunition manufacturers are loading 16.6 gr of what appears to be H110 or W296 behind their 158 gr jhp/jsp. This was determined by people disassembling...
I agree with largom. It's very rare and you'd be surprised what some people will pay on ebay.
4.0 gr Bullseye with a 140 swc would be a nice all around accurate load.

It is surprising that handgun loads for Greendot aren't as plentiful as powders with similar burn rates. I just acquired an older 8 lb jug of it and I plan to us it for 38, reduced 357 mag, 9 mm, 45...
I'm with 35remingtom on loads with Unique. I would, however, reduce the 5.5 gr slightly, as the 850 - 860 fps for 5.0 gr is already more than the 158 lhp FBI load normally produces in a 2 inch...

Another 200 swc would be Lyman 452630 which is similar to the RCBS 45-201-swc except it has a bevel base.

You might try looking at Lyman 429244. It is a Thompson SWC gas check design. I believe the nominal weight to be 255 gr using #2 alloy.

The 158gr lead hp FBI load is one of the most proven defense loads in 38 special. This is both 4 inch and 2 inch revolvers. 4 inch velocities run around 915 fps and 2 inch velocities run around 800...
A bullet like Lyman 358665 and 15.5 gr of H110 and CCI 550 primer.
My recommendation also is for the Lyman 429667. It has better feeding capability for rifles than the swc.

I have 4 of these machines. Each one has a different quirk that I have to deal with. You cannot try to go too fast as you can create problems which slow you done further.
The priming system...
