I have a copy of “Complete Book of Rifles and Shotguns” written by Jack O’Conner in 1961. This type of reticle was mentioned on p. 285 as being an old idea that never caught on.

I’ve installed a globe front sight and a tang rear on mine. At short range it has worked well on small to mid sized deer.
I’ve been using an angled Kiowa for almost 30 years. I bought a fold up stand from Champions Choice at the same time . With a 12” rod it is a very secure set up, unlike a tripod.

Mine has the flip aperture (300-600). I want to use a ladder sight. Can I reuse the existing spring and plunger or do they have to be replaced also ?

After I learned Kroil is a penetrating oil (expensive ) I bought a cheap penetrating oil and use that.

I got out the 3 factory cases in shot and compared them to the shoulders of unaired rounds from the same box. They are definitely rounded. I guess this is the problem. No sign of case head...
