I know this issue has been solved but I'll throw in a possibility just for the halibut.
A couple of months ago I was reloading some 30-06 for my sons Rem 700. I had 100-125 rounds of once fired...

Having arthritis in both thumbs I've pretty much given up on my Lee Hand priming tool.
I bought the RCBS priming tool about 3 months ago. I love it. My bench is a home made setup with inserts...

Are you sure it was .40? Sound more like a "miss-remembering" of the 458x2" American
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.458%C3%972-inch_American
Which, to be sure, is NOT based on the 30-06 case.

Just out of curosity how does one get this lube from pot to luber-sizer without melting every plastic/rubber part in the luber-sizer?

Who cares about the jobs. At least they will be able to get Health Insurance right?
Now in the real world I only have about 1500lbs of wheel weights stashed away. I figure that is only 6 years...

So your saying that America deserved Obama and Obamacare? That the girl was raped because she wore her clothes too tight?
Stop blaming the victim, help us fight it here or expect it to spread.

I've used them in a Mauser 98 that was converted to 30-06 and, FWIW, in a M1 Garand (maybe 16 - 32 rounds).
No problems in my experience.

As long as they pull the southern border of the state of Jefferson down to include Calaveras County I'm good with it. I'm trapped here because of Job and family. Some day that will change and...

I had not considered the specific gravity of the Babbitt vs Lead. You are quite right about that. It would probably be best to go with a 200g+ bullet in the 30s or a 250g+ bullet in my Whelen and...

Sorry about that. I blame the drugs (surgery today, I am not tracking 100% right now). Looking a little closer at the Rotometals site it seems that $18.99 a POUND is more like what it would sell...

Not a serious question (yet) but given the state of affairs in the once Great State of Kalifornia I have to ask.
1) Who here has cast a solid babbitt bullet?
Something like Rotometals...

My Uncle Jim told me this years ago. He made his living for quite a few years as a hunter and trapper. Right up until he married my fathers sister. He swore up and down that that was one of the...

Seeing as Ben developed the mix, and undoubtedly has more experience with it and lubes in general then I do. I would be a fool to discount his advice.
But first I'll try it as it is.

Thank you. I do understand that and was not complaining. More of a comment in general. Living in the Central Sierra Foothills we do get days of 100+ but most days that I shoot are in the upper...

Actually I'm not sure that it (at least my batch) should not be called "Ben's Magenta" or perhaps "Ben's Burgundy".

I'm in the process of "harvesting" the ingredients to make a full sized batch (ie 1 complete tube of Red&Tacky). Two questions have come up.
1) So far both Auto Parts stores that I have checked...

Well mostly I listed the volume at 500/5/5 lbs because that would get me a large enough order from Rotometals to get free shipping. You will note that that formula is easily reduced to 100/1/1 or...

I've been casting straight COWW's for a while (I have 1,000-1,500 lbs stashed) and have been considering spicing the mixture for my rifles (mostly 30 cal but with some 35 and 458 thrown in).
