Ive found the controlling the temp of the melted lead to be crucial...too hot and it will run out like a faucet...too cold and your drippers will stop. I've found the 4 to 6 drips per second yields...
The only adjustment reqd for your lee load all will be the black wad guide on the center post of the press. Single screw and move it up 1/4 inch to the next hole and screw it back in.
You have to...
Uncle D,
I saw you had offered the 12 gauge version for sale in the other thread that is running right now. Any plan to sell these?
Light coating of 2 stroke motor oil once the mold gets hot wprks for me...i apply with a Q-tip
I had a chance to hit the water with some friends last weekend and was excited more than usual because I was taking shells that I dropped the #2-ish bismuth shot for this summer and loaded up last...
Modeling clay is different from play-doh and other types of clay...it doesn't dry out. I never used it directly against powder but in a wad for the 350 and seperated by gas seal and cork wad for my...
rh,
I use modeling clay to fill the bases of my fosters slugs as well as my lyman 350(20ga version of 525). All the slugs I have recovered still have the clay in them and show no or minimal signs...

You will never regret a shot you didn't take as as much you would a shot you do and injure/mame
Has anybody experimented with this? I would like to give it a go but can't find anything that covers that heavy of a payload.
I'm thinking gas seal and 7 layers of triple stack with an OS and fold...
TB, I have found that using a non compressible stack-up for full bore slugs produces tighter groups. Most of my best loads contain a gas seal (OB20), and a 1/2 fiber wad under the slug.
I've got some I could spare. How many do you need.
I've got PT2092s and CSD20s
Amen to goose season. Starts here in MD tomorrow as well.

I decided to continue this "experiment" red neck style while I try and figure out how to make a new base pin without a lathe. I fired up the pot and filled the hollow bases. As predicted by Dino the...
HT...i have some concerns with terminal performance at 100 yds...don't have a chrono so i dont know exactly how fast my slugs are going out of the muzzle. I also don't know ballistic coeffecient to...
D-you think i could still hammer swage a solid cast? Just have to hit it a little harder i suppose.
Been working the Lyman Foster 20ga and have gotten some good results. 2" groups at 100yds no flyers yet. After casting I'm tumble lubing and "hammer-sizing" them in an old cut off piece of 20ga...
I use soapstone for the ramp on mine. "not a Littleton though"
I think i may start substituting lead shavings/powder into all my recipes that call for pepper since there isn't any proof that its not good for ducks to eat lead.
