How did the cases/primers look with the 57 grain load? You were averaging 20-ish FPS increase across the board with your 1 grain increase increments... then it jumped 120 FPS @ 57. That tells me...

I've never used it for reduced rifle loads (not sure I would recommend it either) but it's a fantastic hotrod shotgun powder and works really well in most magnum and high pressure autoloading pistol...
Casting experiment #1 for the 500 Magnum was a success! Ordered up a Lee 501-440-RF mold, push through sizer and some gas checks last week and had a little time the past couple days to get some...
NICE collection!!! That long slide 220 and two tone 226... 😍:drinks:
I just recently bought my first Sig and went BIG--picked up a P320 Legion to replace my Glock for 3 gun and steel challenge...

I had a similar problem with Lee's universal decapping die. It would randomly pop the decapping pin every now and then no matter how tightly I cranked down on the nut. How I solved it: Take take...

Supply (or lack there of) and demand... not everyone has the tools, time or desire to make them and manufacturers capitalize on that.
Pachmayr grips have never really been "rubbery" to me and have more of a stiff, plasticky feel compared to say, Hogues which have more of pencil eraser feel. Not to say they don't have rubber like...

Awesome--glad it worked out well for ya!
My go-to target load for 38 special is a Lee 358-158-RF boolit, cast with range scrap, powder coated and sized to .358. 4 grains of W231 with the boolit seated to the crimp groove is good for 860...

It comes in waves and it goes FAST... keep some $$$ in reserve and be ready to pounce when you see it! I try to stay well ahead of the curve and buy it before I need it. I was lucky to find Varget...

The 'ol Gal got released on parole yesterday! She rounds out the family quite well.

I don't have any fancy pin gauges so I smushed some lead round balls down the throats and...
That's odd... I have Lee's 457-340 which I believe is essentially the same bullet as the 405 from the crimp groove to the tip of the nose--from the crimp groove to the base, the 405 is a bit longer...

I started with tumbling with Alox and push through sizing... then upgraded to a RCBS lubrisizer, a bunch of top punches/sizing dies and about every lube under the sun...
Last year, after...

I believe so. It's what WallyWorld sells for cheap and it seems to work great. Any car wash and wax should work just fine though...

Don't go overboard on the Lemi-Shine... it'll stain your brass pink. I use a 44 magnum case filled to the brim and find that's plenty. It's more for softening the water than cleaning the brass. ...

Depends on the gun. Depends on the type/quantity of powder. Depends on the boolit itself. Depends on how the load was developed... and on and on. There's a whole lot of "what if's" involved...

Yup, don't argue with them... they will always win.
Many years ago, I lived in an apartment complex where I had a reloading setup in a spare bedroom. I was out of town for two weeks and got a...

DougGuy, I'll get the throats and bore measured up this week and report back to you. Fingers crossed they'll be good to go but if not, I'll definitely be enlisting you for some cylinder work

Dad bought this 686-1 brand new in 1988 and passed it on to me recently. Got to sling a little lead with it this morning and man, OH MAN, is it a solid shooter! Loaded up some Lee 358-158 RF's,...

Great info, thank you!
I'll be sure to measure the throats when it gets released from prison in a couple days... (stupid CA waiting period  )
