T/C"s are generally 1-48 twist,at least all I have seen are.

I think if it was me I would buy it for 200 and shoot it as is,until I learned a little more about it.Then if I found out I liked it .well then upgrade to a better gun.No use putting a lot of money...
Forum: Muzzleloading.
You wouldn't get hurt buying it but you would be happier down the line with the T/C.Better quality than the Traditions.IMO

I looked and found 2 flints for 11.00 in the size I needed, not really a good price for those unless I am looking at the wrong thing.Track of the Wolf has Tom Fuller flints for 2.00 a piece.

Thats one you probably will not find commercially ,best contact Jeff Tanner to see what he would suggest,What kind of gun is that anyway? Must be a 10 Ga.gun for that size.

Me too, makes a lot of patches very quick. If there is a Harbor Freight around you pick up a set of cheap hole saws so you don't have to use expensive ones.

Have you contacted T/C themselves? Or try Track of the Wolf.

Seems like you have to use a lot more for the same results as Black, these substitute powders never seem to catch on except for the zip gun shooters who are looking for the next better thing to come...

Mid South Shooters Supply has them in stock for 560 for the Great Plains, for got to ask do you need R/H or L/H?
Forum: Muzzleloading.
Hey BoE,go with the Great Plains instead of the Hunter.More versatile and more available. If you do get a wild hair and want to shoot at some at the shoots it will do better with the slow twist on...
Forum: Muzzleloading.
What are you going to shoot in it? The Hunter is 1-32 twist and the Plains is 1-60,I believe.Round ball would be better suited with the slower twist.

WOW guys, Maine sounds a lot like Oregon is now! In the forty years I have been here the population has doubled with the majority of it coming from California. The entire state is run by the vote on...

If it is a 12 Ga. I am thinking the 62.cal would be a little small. I thought that 12 Ga. was equal to a .75 cal.

The reason I like the long range model is, it has the pistol grip stock and the wood seems to be a fancier grade on it also. It comes with a globe front sight and I will probably go with a long range...

I have shot muzzle loaders for many years and we always just use a measure for loads,in BPCR do you use a scale for it or just measure it by volume? Thanks

BP only, never had the urge to go smokeless.I am thinking 85-90 grains of Ol Ezra in 2F with a 535 Postell and a wad in between.

Once again I come to you knowledgeable folks with a newbie question. Can you load 45-90 cases with a 45-70 die set.I know adjustments will have to be made for the different lengths but can it be done...
