Thank you.
I guess that means it's a M88 with a M98, Mauser magazine.
That is a great improvement!

I wasn't aware that Pedersoli had a 18 twist 38/55 rifle so, I will rule that out as well as the many 18 twist Schuetzen that were common in my sport, before 1990. So, if interested in this bullet,...

I had a request from our Aussy friends to make a "Money type" bullet for breech seating in a 38 cal, Pedersoli HW. They have groove diameters of .380.
I also added a bullet, on the same design for...

In my load developement for my .310 groove Krag, the best load between 18.0 and 24.0 gr of 4759 was 18.5, using Rem 2 1/2 primers. It yielded a 1.5" group @ 100, using the 311413U bullet.

I put one in mine and yes, I did have to grind out some wood. It only took about 1/2 hour to make sure it didn't touch.

Your bullet is 1.385 long with the GC installed. With your bullet and case combo, you have .410 of the bullet below the case neck.
I believe that this is the reason your getting keyholes, the...

They are more valuable today and run $300 - 500. They should all have .321 groove diameter x .311 bore barrels. I'd offer $400 if it's in very good condition and settle for $425.

I have a M48BO (means unmarked). The barrel is perfect, the stock is cut down and it shoots very well.
It should be noted that they are a shorter, large ring action and won't take M98 stocks.

I've used the original 323471 (the highest BC bullet that Lyman has made) in my M48 Mauser. Using WC852, I've shot 2" groups @ 100 yards at 2150 fps.

It will give excellent accuracy in faster twists but, won't stabilize in the slower twist like the 32 Ideal, it's a 20 twist, I believe.
