I Just put a couple of Kleenex in with each batch. Media lasts for ever.

I am surprised. Few seem to have more than one pot. Lead or mix will melt faster if you start with a full pot. The last time my pots were empty when they were new. I have three. One with coww...

This is interesting to me. I have been shooting a 60 grain rn gc out of an old Ideal mold. Never tried beyond 100 yards. Out of one of a couple Interarms Mini MK10s head shots on squirrels at...

I have loaded to 1550fps with the same bullet mold you have. 50/50 mix of coww and pure lead. Lube is my own. Soft and slimy. No leading and great accuracy. Shot deer at around 200 yards with a...

Soft or pure lead is what you want for black powder. Black will bump the bullet up some at firing. You want s soft bullet lube. Don't worry about how it is formulated. We can spend days arguing...

In my Rossi 44 levergun I shoot the same load and bullet I shoot in my revolvers. A 240 grain SWC over 2400 powder. Bullet is hard cast plain base sized .429. it shoots very well in all my 44s. ...

I cast a 60 grain that I shoot in a mini mark X in 223 cal. The mold is an old Ideal. Head shots on squirrel at 75 yards is easy. It is quiter than a 22lr. I did not think they were any harder...

Where I worked a few years ago we sold an upper. I think it was at our inhouse gunsmith more than with the guy that purchased it. It seems all are different. He came up with one factory load that...

Yes welcome back to the madness. I have powder coated bullets in the past but it is way faster to size and lube them. They need sized any way. I still powder coat rifle bullets inside of gas...

The closest I have come to that was a neighbor had a sow get out to a timber and have a litter. He could not get or her pig cought so he told every one to shoot them. Me wanting to help went out...

Guess I will be odd guy in this. I cast out of straight WW. 260RNFP in 45Colt doing 1100, 240 SWC in 44 mag doing 1300and 210 also in 44 mag case doing 700. The long shot was with 45 at 200 yards....

I have als0 been playing with this in a 223. Been a while sense I loaded them. 12 or 13 grains of 2400 my goal was rabbits and squirrels. Works well on those.

I have caught them in my hands. This one was about to get up under the house.

I load my own in 44 using 6 shot. The largest was a 5 foot long bull snake in a basement. Wiggled for about a 5 count was all. Snake was about 20 feet away.
Good shot on your and stubys part. ...

When I was 18 I lived in villages in Central and South America. If they can get it in the cooking pot it was eaten. I have no idea what some of it was I just ate it.

A 60 grain over a little Red Dot in a 223 for small ga.e or dispatching. I have dispatched coyotes with a 200 lead over 27 grains 2f black out of an original 1860 army Richard's conversion. If you...

Does seem to move the second morning when it turns cold. Bucks, because of bigger bodies, seem to move more any time. If weather is warm deer move any time.

The 12 grains of 2400 and a 180 grain is in the Lyman manual. To me hard is good brittle is bad. Most of my cast bullets can be shot into a block of wood big enough to stop bullet split out of wood...

Powders I have used are IMR3031, blc2 and 748. Don't get to locked in to not using ball powders.

Just a thought. Are you crimping the case to bullet when loading? It could be that it takes two shots to build up a little crude to hold the bullet a micro second so you get a consistent powder...

My guess would be a lot of IMR3031. A strong action like a Marlin 336. A 375 case is 1/10 of an inch shorter than a 38-55 case. Or you could just start with a 375.

Sorry I missed stating that the 2 inches is shot with my custom Remington RB. Same load 63 grains 2f and 500 grain bullet.

The 400 grain wfn is around .350. I don't know who made the mold as I bought it in a box of reloading stuff for only a few $. The 500 grain is pointed but with 63 grains 2f it matches the sights on...

With real black I have used pure lead and acww. With a 500 grain pointed bullet I shot a deer at 600 yards. Deer went about150 yards. Using a 400 grain fn cast of acww over enough IMR3031 to get...
