The red Loctite did not hold, so I would not recommend it.
I have used punches from General Tool to cut out patches for black powder. Not sure where their made, but with the assist of a small ballpeen hammer and an acrylic cutting board, they have worked...
Have both, pre & post, in the safe. Just being a 'pre' would not deter me from picking up another. If allowed, remove the grips and look for signs of surface rust.

I load for the 7.62x25, definitely not it.
The rim dia. is .397, base dia. is .347 and with the aid of a magnifying glass see that there is no extractor groove on the casing.

The round on the right is a 'bona fide' 25-20 WCF, the round on the left is a question mark.
Forum: Vintage Ammo
Happened across a cartridge the other day, supposedly a 25-20 WCF, which now has me wondering if it is a 25-20. For starters there is no sign of there ever being a headstamp. That's a first, for me...

There are rings like those on a Marlin branded 4x scope, believe it's 3/4" tube. Also there is one ring, on the front of another 3/4" scope. There isn't one on the back! This one is a 6X. Nearest...

I'm in a similar situation, both in terms of age & quantity on hand. Have sold some here, in #40 lots at a $1.50 a pound plus shipping, but now the shipping costs don't make it a cost effective way...

I will use tarnished, but clean, range brass. I'll be the one that determines if it's clean.
Off topic, but I pick up all but .22 rimfire brass. To much bending for this older body. Any brass I...

I would opt for the Thompson over the H & R.
Reason being that I find the H & R to have a tendence to mis-fire due to what I feel is fouling in the breechplug. I use the same wiping technique...
The mould chart shows it at 100 gr., so if data is lacking why not look at a similar weight of another brand, say the Lee 356-102-1R

An 18" magnetic strip can be had from Harbor Freight. This can be screwed onto a convenient spot by a bench. Or, since there aren't really that many sizes, maybe 5-6, that are usually used on...

I've dealt with them before & would do so again. They also have a large presence at the OGCA shows where I have spoken with them. Nice people to deal with.
