I have one and I really like it. The fit and finish is quite impressive and the only dislike is like my other 10mm's (Ruger BH convertible excepted) it throws brass into the next county!

they do make them in "half lug" --I have one Ruger's catalogs it as GP-4451 model 01770.
A new to me Smith 625-8. So far it shoots far better than I can hold. BTW full moon clips are a PITA but handy.
YMMV, Stan
+1 to what Doug Guy sez! I have several Rugers that he has "massaged" and can attest to the fact that I shoot much better as a result of his work. Hope this helps '

My biggest sixgun mistake was not buying a couple of more Ruger Blackhawks 1n 1955 when I got one with a serial # below 5000 for $87.50. Still have that one though (with the original box) :-)
I have one of the Lipsey's Flattops stainless .45 Colt/ .45ACP convertibles that is one of the most satisfying handguns that I have-- especially the .45 Colt chambering.
Mine likes the RCBS 270...
What Plinker said. I used the "JB Weld" fix on a M10 Smith to change the poi and it worked very well. Just throw a gob of JBW on top of that front sight, trim it a bit with a file, dab it with a...
Hard to beat that RCBS .45-SAA-270 bullet. My Flattop just loves it. Hope thiis helps --Stan
Firestick: Glad to see another .44 Spl GP100 guy. I couldn't make my mind up on which way to go---so I went with the GP100 in blue (4.5") AND the Smith 69 in .44 Mag. Since they are both "L"frame...
Rodfac-- I also hope you mean 13.5gr of 2400 and NOT Unique. I use the 13.5gr of 2400 as my "go to" load in the .357 for "serious" use. My guns (Ruger Blackhawk and Smith 681 " chronograph @ 1230...

I haven't been in the area for a few years but, Moody's Diner in Waldoboro, Me. was a mandatory "pie stop" when heading Down East. Another good stop was a place on the main drag in Bingham on Rt....
If YOU want a challenge, try cheap tennis balls. @ a $1.52/3 at the local Walmart, they're a bargain and will last for quite a while using .22's, with larger calibers--no t quite so long. Hits and...

I've built two. One was a Chris Craft 10' racing pram, that would do about 25mph with an old Martin 75 (7 1/2 hp) and FLY with a MK20 Merc. The other was an 8' pram in my mother-in-law's cellar...
My .02 FWIW. Buy it! It's a great gun and the only thing I don't like is that I have to chase brass into the next county!! Hope this helps, Stan
FWIW, I have the full lug model and the only gripe I have (or had) is that it rapped the knuckle on my second finger when fired. The problem went away with a set of Hogue grips. And yes that Skelton...
Forum: Reloading Equipment
When I started reloading, I had an old Pacific "Super C" press (I think that was the name of it) that could be converted to an "upstroke" rather than the more common "down stroke". I made a simple...
In view of Ruger's reputation of "Hell for stout", I would consider the GP100 to be unchallenged by the 22Kpsi level of "Cat-2" loads. Just my humble opinion--FWIW. Stan
Softpoint-- Brian Pearce has listed quite a bit of load data for the .44 Spl in Handloader issue #312 (Feb 2018) that may answer a lot of your questions. The nice part of it is that he lists pressure...
Gotta agree with you Murph--I've had it about a week or so now and it grows on ya. As soon as I get through messin' with my .44 Spl. I'll really start wringing the M-15 out.
Claypool and Beachbum444: I kinda suspected that the "autograph" had something to do with the "legal System". It would be interesting to track it down--just for my own curiosity/ satisfaction. Thx...
Thanks to all for the help. Larry, I'm not really surprised that S&W gave you the "go Ahead" for the use of +P ammo. However, I am surprised that they didn't start marking their product as +P...
I attended a local "Toy Show" today and a S&W Mod 15-4 (Combat Masterpiece) followed me home. It was kinda "grungy" but cleaned up well -- except for one minor detail. At some time or other some...
I tried to order one of them from Lipsey's (via LGS) a couple of days ago and was told that the entire "run" was "spoken for". Too bad, so sad--I bought one of the 5" blue .44 Spl full lugged...
Well, I shopped around town this afternoon and stumbled across a full lugged GP-100 in .44 Spl and it followed me home. First .44 I've ever owned so it'll be interesting getting to know it. Wish...
I don't think I'd throw the full lug model out of my locker or the stainless Blackhawk convert in .40 S&W/ 10mm either! :-)
