I don't have his contact info. But search on KAL Tool & Die. I got one from him some time back. These are newly made by him. They are thicker than the originals. The work great.

I checked out the mold last night. Looks like the alignment pins are holding it open. So, I tried to adjust with a punch and hammer - like I've always done. No dice. They wouldn't budge either...

I'll check the mold to see if it closes all the way. Maybe that's the issue. Leadhead, I'll let you know if I end up selling.
I was looking at a Lyman 346 top punch. It doesn't have the flat...

Thanks for the replies. I'll try a few. I usually have boolits casting small with this alloy. I was surprized to see them come out that large.

I just got a 6-cav 7mm Soup Can mold from Midsouth. I cast up a few samples. They look good, until you put a mic on them. They measure almost .289. When I size them .285, the lube grooves are...
I only have one mold, RCBS 98gr SWC (102gr with my alloy). It shoots will in the 32 H&R with 2.7 of W231 or HP38. It's a nice light plinking load.

Here's my attempt at a lead hammer.

I haven't tried it yet. But, I think it will work OK. (Hope the pictures work.)
I have a six cavity - maybe 2 years old. Looks like .250 from the crimp (top) to nose. Mine cast .431 X .433 with Range Lead (Indoor range 40/50/10 jackets/cast/22lr is my guess. Pretty soft.) +...

It depends on the distance being shot. 300yds and under get dumped. After 300yds, I weigh (brass after it's prepped, bullets, and powder). Variations in velocity matter more as the distance...
I've shot these in my 54 renegade. They are supposed to go down the bore fairly tight. The REAL means Rifling Engraved At Loading. So, they should not drop down the bore. They are tough to load...
I doubt the deer would know any difference. It' more old eyes. I cannot see iron sights in the woods anymore. The 44 and 454 have optics.
Thanks for the replies.
I've tried a 410459 (borrowed mold). It has a smaller meplate. It shot OK. But, was casting undersized (.408-.409). I got some leading - even with light loads - 8gr...
Has anyone used the accurate 41-210T?

I have a BH 41 mag that I need a mold for. I'll be using it mostly for plinking - 70...
I had to adjust the alignment pins on a 358429. The mold halves were not staying in alignment when closed. That caused them to cast out of round. They still are slightly out of round. But not...
How about Optics Planet. Might be a little pricey.

I mine the indoor range at our club. A 5 gal bucket usually weighs 90-100lbs. Out of that, I get about 65lbs lead and one gallon of jackets. I got $.70 per lb for the jackets last time.
I had a 45/410 barrel at one time. It had exactly what you describe. It's threaded on when shooting 410 shotshells. It has to be taken off when shooting 45 colt. I sold it years ago.

I've used 6.0 of W231 behind the 429421 Lyman SWC keith (cast 260gr with my alloy). Really fun to shoot at 70 yards.

I'm interested in a 4 cav 842.
Can you tell me the difference between the S842 and the 842? Is the S842 cut to smaller diameter because of linotype? Or, are there differences in the...

I cast range lead with just a little tin added so it will fill out. But, I mine it from the BE pistol range where there isn't a lot of jackets.

I bought some 95/5 from Amazon at $5.59 per 1/2 lb plus shipping. Best price I've seen so far. Bought 5 lbs with shipping @ $12.78/lb.

I did another test with the vise and a .172 steel ball. I put a COWW ingot, the steel ball, and the broken off ear in the vise and squeezed them together. The ball went twice as deep in the WW...

I gave it a tap with a 3lb hammer. It has a nice ring. So, I gave it a good hit. The ear broke off. I think I have lino.

Thanks for the info. That's a nice surprise.

I bought some WW from a guy who no longer cast. He had some other items that he threw into the deal.
Any idea what these are?...
