Help? Any of you wonderful gun gurus...how do I get this to work.
I have the .223 barrel, not big deal there. I have the .223 bolt face, again, a no brainer.
But how do I get the 110 LA to feed...

Lots of information here.
I can tell you what I have recently learned. It has worked fantastically for me, cleaned rifles that have probably not been clean for almost 100 years.
Shooting builds...

I agree with the welded crowd. For me, it has produced the best results. Forging has difficulties, bending has more problems. Welding is quick, easy, and produces the best results. The bolt welding...

I have made them out of aluminum rod. I use a flat file to install the v groove for the front one. Make sure it is aligned properly before letting the bedding set.
Mine have worked out very well....

What about building a .338 Marlin Express on a Mauser 95 ?
Design pressure seems ok at 46,500 PSI...
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I have removed the barrel band on a couple Sav 340 style rifles.
I always weld on a receiver tang on the rear of the action, drill and tap it for same as front receiver screw (I think it is 1/4-28,...

I have purchased many 03's and 03A3s for under $200, in perfect health.

That is impressive shooting with a short barreled .44. Very nice.
I did not realize those would shoot that good.
Great job.

LAGS,
I just reread your post on how to do this, and I have a couple questions.
Are the two grooves cut vertically on the insides of the notch you cut in the sear?
When you say don't cut the...

Lags,
How do you get the ball to float on the sear housing? I am not sure I quite understand what you are doing differently. Please explain it in a little more detail for us dense and disturbed......

Nice group. Looks like you are really getting it into the groove.
Why the small pistol primers?

I had a beautiful FN-49 in 7x57 a long time ago. I really wish I had kept it, but necessity dictated otherwise. It was extremely accurate with factory ammunition, after I cleaned all the cosmoline...

Venezuela is in dire straits for sure. If this ends without a massive blood bath, I will be amazed.

I would not build a rifle on a 93, if it is to be your "last custom rifle". Use a great 98 action. Don't settle for less.
I have both.
I do like the .257 AI, but it is not necessary in...

You might check out Walnut Gunstocks in Weiser, Idaho.
They wound up with quite a few of American Gunstock Co.'s stocks and might have what you are looking for.

.35 Whelen is an excellent choice for hunting. I would use it up to and including Grizzly or Brown Bear. Really, an ideal North American cartridge. You can load it down, or load it up, use cast or...

Very pretty work.

I have modified several Savage 340 style rifles to remove the barrel band. Simply weld a small extension, at an angle, to the rear of the receiver. Drill and tap it for a longer rear guard screw....

I firmly agree with the others who have stated that this rifle should not be used with .308 chambering.
I think the SR mausers are fine for lower pressure cartridges, but .308 based cartridges are...
