I know this is an old thread, but I’m curious if it got any further

I remember a thread where someone made a plate out of perhaps aluminum.
It was designed to sit in the bottom of a Lee pot.
There where holes drilled in it to hold jackets upright.
It was...

Not a shotgun. True 12 bore. Similar to 729 Jongman.
I’ll ask Lathesmith.
I have 1.25” x 12 tpi and also 1.5” x 12 tpi presses available.

I’m working on a 12 bore project. Mould is coming from accurate. My barrel has a 0.729” groove diameter. I plan on trying a 0.730” sized book it.
My Lyman 450 doesn’t appear to be up to the task...
What kind of crimp are you using and what tool are you crimping with?
Anyone try using a plastic hull and a full bore slug with nothing but powder between the slug and the primer flash hole?
I'm wanting nothing but slug and gas to exit the barrel.
Imagine a big...
Ed,
Does your 700 Hubel Express fire a 0.729” Bullet?
I’m making 0.729 jacketed bullets and want to find a test bed or two.
I’ve seen reference to a 729 Jongman. Seems like a rimless...

Steel alloy and heat treat process has me intrigued

Heating them until they pop off could be combined with the annealing process.
Now you have jackets for a 40...

I’m currently using 408 jacketed drawn to 338 for my needs, but they are very long.
I’m looking for a 338 Jacket to make a 300gr in a VLD shape with boat tail.
I’m not having much luck...

What nose shape are you using?
I run lead tip Bullets in my ARs often.
The size and shape of the lead tip seem to make a difference, with a 4 ogive on the blackout being about perfect.

Spent 5.7 brass is an option, but you’ll always make a better Bullet with a real Jacket.
The time and effort to bump the 6.5mm Jacket up will quickly pay for just buying 30 caliber jackets.

Thanks for everyone’s input.
I plan on trying several of these options and will report back with outcome.
I’m thinking about a custom project that will require a rebarrel of a 12 gauge.
The Savage 212 setup appears to use a barrel nut and a threaded barrel just like a Savage 110 Rifle.
I’m...

Which liquid lanolin are you using? I’ve only used pharmaceutical grade anhydrous, but it is very thick.
How do you apply your lube to the jackets?
Forum: Swaging
I currently use lanolin-castor oil mixture for my Lube needs.
In my Corbin dies, very little to zero Lube is recommended in the two step core seat of the boat tail dies.
I'm venturing into...

I’m very familiar with fire forming an Ackley Improved. I have several.
A friend of mine has an ELR rifle in 375 SnipeTac. This is an improved 375 Cheytac, but unlike an Ackley, the neck-shoulder...

Richard broke off and started www.rceco.com

I’m not swaging for 348, but I imaging you could draw 9mm down. It might take a press designed for swaging rather than a reloading press to do so in 1 step.
For the effort vs return, having one...

I think he was saying he can see the image, but is unable to identify any patch material still attached to the lead.
