if you add a gas checked and drop the bhn..the as cast size should drop from increased shrinkage. then size it...323 or so.
yup..I agree. it runs good with lots of bearing surface..and yup..50k is just a lot for lead.
yep//10rnd m,ags becme 13..etc.
I really think it's the pressure that makes this a less than stellar lead round..I mean it works..but this is one of those that jacketed simply works better.
I didn't say that I couldn't get it to run..I did. it runs fine..it just is a handicap to this type of round..obviously higher pressures and speeds can be reached with jacketed rounds..and get...
I load for it as well. the only downside is that it is a cartridge that just doesn't lend well to using cast projectiles. I did lots of testing. it's versatile with anything jacketed..and very...

Agreed..softer..better.. and thus the need for not so much pressure either.. 40:1 etc...

None of the cartridges are particularly hard to load for..easiest will always be straight cartridges..then next are usually rimmed. 45-70 and 30-30 would be my start..with 45-70 first.. Very...
It doesn't take much powder to move a lead bullet down a barrel..I load super mild bullseye loads for old black powder guns to squeeze out soft lead bullets.. most of the time less than 2gr.. ...

Yeah..straight wall pistol I don't trim..bottle neck pistol I do. I have 45acp/38-357 that have been run till the headstamp has smooth spots and never trimmed.

Either your trimmer has a malfunction..or you are missing a step or procedure. I have been using RCBS lathe trimmers since they were manual and used shell plates..then with the universal jaw design...
