we melt aluminum here at work 1180 F. it wil slush out about 900 F your propane burner will get
hotter than that . your lead is 650 to 700 not much room before desaster strikes. just saying
...

i use 6.0 gr of hs6behind a 125 gr. lead boolit.

i use wst in my 9 sti and springer 5.25 works fine but i think i like hs6 better
still testing. have a 3 gun match this weekend will shoot the sti with wst.

what is the joints made of in lead pipe ? i have read where people cut out the joins before smelting.

i'm going to saw it in 2 in. slabs should weigh about 68 lb. each
it does seem to be pure lead but i have no way of checking.

Bought my first lead today 8.125 by 10.250 by 24 in.
nice chunk said it came from a fork lift it seems soft .

slugged at 451 sized at 452 i though that also and rechecked it several times

one more thing i cast 6500 over the Christmas holidays.
that's why i would like to make them softer if it was just a few then i would remelt
