I had good success putting my Lyman/Ideal 45 in the oven @200 for a little while and then using blue shop towels to wipe everything out and down.

I find that using old computer power supply boxes work well for these units. You can gut them out and cut out for your PID controller. I've built two this way and have about $35 into mine.

I second this. The wax/oil base won't mix well with water. When dry tumbling I just pour a little Nufinish right on top of the media, usually lizard bedding from the pet store.
