My 223 Compass arrived today. Hard to believe this great a rifle for 300 bucks. Going off to get whacked back to just legal and threaded (it is already threaded 1/2x28).

Yeah I would never spend that for a tool ---- I'd rather wreck a King Reflector ramp & sight OR a antique spirt level Sharps sight OR a hand made nickel silver sight on a 1700s PA rifle.

To get a GOOD 6-24X scope if you start at $500 (for a lightly used Leupold) you will not be disappointed. Buy a cheap one and you'll have a decent 6 to 10X scope.

A 6mm CM is a 308 based case. You could not rebbl any 223 gun to it w/o changing a lot more.
