Yes. Trying to size naked lead is VERY hard to do. The PC lubes the boolit making sizing much easier.

There are dozens/hundreds of videos showing the powder coat method. Eastwood PC works no different to any other make of PC. You really don't even need a video. Find a Cool Whip bowl (or bowl using...

Thanks for clearing that up! I guess I never knew I needed anything more than my hands to tighten it up. Maybe that is why I'm not getting super incredible accuracy??

Glossy seems to work best. Anything with "super durable" in the title is plus. There is a sticky showing what powders people have used that either worked or didn't. I recommend checking that one...

If he went from 1" groups to 6-8" groups, one of two things is happening: a) The boolit alloy is too soft b) The boolit is cast to small

I've experienced both, so I know  Even if you...

The "Piglet" method was the first (I think) to use power coating. That involved adding acetone to black Harbor Freight powder then tumbling in the slurry. Since then DT came along and simplified...

HF Black does not work for shake and bake (ironically, I think that was the very first or second post in this forum).

I'd say PC allows slightly higher velocities. As you've found, at a certain point, accuracy falls apart. I liken it to a sausage. You can squeeze it and the outer coating may still be intact, but...

I use Teflon black paint. You might want to try that instead of mixing up your own concoction. It really slides through the sizing die easily and doesn't seem to stick to other bullets as much when...

I don't. In case you are new to the process, sizing does NOT remove the PC.

My $.02: PC allows slightly softer alloy. Think of it like a sausage where the PC is the sausage's skin. You can squish the sausage without breaking the skin, but that doesn't mean the results...

It shows the correct temp when using the TC. It also shows it should be sending power to the SSR (via an indicator on the PID). But, there is no voltage on the terminals hooking into the SSR.

My favorite is black teflon (from Powder by the Pound IIRC). It really smooths out the sizing operation and the bullets don't seem to stick together as much.

I received my new SSR and it does not change things. I believe that the PID isn't sending out a signal to the SSR (volt meter shows 0 VDC coming out). So a new PID is next up :-(
