I bought a lot of Oregon Trail 405gr unsized/unlubed. They ran about .461" and I'd pan lube them with the concoction of the day - shot great through my Guide Gun. I ran them at about 1800fps.

Next time you order, get a larger diameter bullet. Also, HiTek is not magic, you can get leading at the muzzle because the coating was exhausted.
I've confirmed the shortcomings of HiTek by tumble...
You need to resize about .9" in order to properly hold 400+gr bullets. I use Lyman's necksize die.
My results are poor until you get the pressure up past +p. Longshot is really too slow for standard 45acp, but it us very good for 45 super and 460 Rowland.
I use Silhouette for my 185gr @1100fps...
I reload the 45acp and I won't carry it in bear country because I have other cartridges better suited. Apart from the common semi wadcutter, the 45acp chamber won't handle a penetrating bullet...
If the goal is self-defense, then I suggest you stick with low flash powders. That eliminates Power Pistol and HS6.
I like Ramshot Silhouette (cheap, easy to find). Western Load Data is excellent...
Clays is a good plinker powder in this application. I used 6.2gr behind a 165gr .310" cast flat point for 1050fps, 20" barrel. WLR primer as large pistol might sit too deep in the primer pocket.
Your COL is set by your crimp groove(s). An S&W M29 cylinder is 1.7" long, a M69 is shorter. Give yourself some room for crimp jump.
Enforcer is slower than 2400 and works best with a magnum primer. It is a true ball powder, so it meters like water.
You can't get the velocity of H110/w296, but pretty close. Dull orange flash, so...
I know from experience that 6.5gr of Clays or TiteGroup behind a 240gr lswc will yield 900'ish fps from a 4" barrel.
Leverguns, due to the barrel bands and dovetails, rarely shoot different velocity loads to the same POI.
Color of case soot. Very dense. Very easy to double-charge in a large case like 38spl for those who are working with a non-progressive press.
But once loading technique is addressed, TiteGroup is...
Exactly. None of those powders are going to give high performance, so just follow 155gr load data. If you want performance, use Longshot - THE 40sw powder.

If these are plinkers, i.e. CAS loads, then you can full-length resize once and then neck-size only.
But if these are full-up loads, then you need full-length resize and check case length every...
I think the 9mm man-boys will drive the market for some time, mainly because they like to play make-believe dress up more than actually shoot.
They like to talk about their trigger upgrades, higher...
Usually bad bullet fit will show up after 8-10 shots as keyholing (45-70 slugs sound like a fat bumble bee). If you see a lube donut on the muzzle then the bullet fits and the alox is doing its job....
What does that have to do with bevel base bullets?
It works good for me in 45acp when I get velocity/pressure up into the +P range. Below that the ES spread is noticeable. Obviously you can use LongShot to hit 460Rowland performance.
I tried it in...
Unless you're using slow ball powders like H120/W296 I doubt you'll notice the difference. A powder like 2400 can be ignited with anything.
Wow! That is a tight fit. I don't own a M69, I'm assuming it has a 1.7" cylinder as well.
You must have your neck tension and crimp down pat to trust in no bullet movement with so little margin....
I'd be surprised if a 355gr WLN would fit within the 1.7" S&W cylinder.
The heavier taper crimp will round over the edge a bit, which might be enough "slickness".
