Flat nose bullet so that's not an issue. I just spoke with Winchester and the current 1894s have a .377" groove +/-.002" which not going to cut it as I do not want to have to keep track of ammo with...

I was afraid that might be the case with rifles. The mold is an Accurate 38-250D so it should work in a lever.

I'm thinking of picking up a rifle caliber levergun for cowboy action side matches. I do NOT want a .45-70, my Sharps in that caliber is enough. I do have a .35-55 Uberti High Wall with a .380...

Uberti is a manufacturer. Cimarron, Navy Arms and Taylors are importers. Each importer may have slightly different fit and finish specs for a specific gun made by Uberti but the guts of the gun are...

Thanks guys. I went with the Accurate 38-250D design speced to drop a 1:20 at minimum .3815" for the body, will size to .3810". requested the nose be no larger than .3810 to prevent chambering...

One of these recently followed me home. Shoots 12-15 shots well with HSM factory ammo but leads badly. Probably due to .3790" boolit that's hard cast but it makes empty Starline brass for now.

European walnut.
I'll neck turn the brass if I have to.

Aluminum is the correct version according to science, only the Brits pervert the word. Aus four suupeurfluuous vouweuls weu Aumeuriucauns diud auwauy wiuth theum four au reuausoun. ;)

Really hard to resist a like new, 108 year old, tall, svelte Swede with great figure! Bore is like new and mics .2664" grooves. I'm guessing a .267" or .268" boolit should work.

In my 96 and 38 Sierra 140 Gamekings and Matchkings always performed well. I even shot my 96 in 1000 yard competitions using the SMKs before I built a 6.5-06 match rifle.

2-3 hours using off the shelf parts. One bend, no drilling. As built will keep the thermocouple approx. 1/2" from the pot side and approx. 1/2" off the bottom.

Been a busy week with garden canning, casting .30 cals and making thermocouple mounts for a PID. Meanwhile I managed to get an Arsenal 330gr and NOE 396gr (PB abd GC cavities in one mold) to try.

Setting it aside for now. No biggie as I learned diamond paste cuts VERY fast on aluminum and one cannot learn without the occasional failure.
Thanks. Any idea what diameter it drops 1:20 alloy? .460" is my absolute minimum.
I used to work at NASA Goddard and retired down here.
Rifle is a .45-70 Pedersoli Down Under Sharps, 34" barrel, throat is .460", grooves are .459"
One or two cavity, aluminum or cast iron. Must drop 1:20 at .460" to .462", no HP or HB styles. I...
I checked all that out before I started. Like I said above, no biggie, just a $20 mold and some effort wasted.
It went oval. No biggie, only a $20 mold and a little effort wasted. Meanwhile I think I'll just buy a mold that does what i want from the get go.
Why Lee puts this mold out at .457 instead of .460 is beyond me but it's cheap so I decided to try it. Using 1:20 alloy. Parting line one cavity drops .455 and the other cavity drops .456, both...

Thanks guys. That's a couple of starting points to experiment off of. Waiting on delivery of lead wire for slugging the rifle throat.
