Some good advice below. For long range extra investment can be worth it. I do like Leopold products and use them the most except on me single shot classics where Unertl still looks best.

I like the fixed 10X like the older Weaver T-10 model. Have one in use for several years. See what you can find used or borrow to try out to meet your needs.

I have two variable Sightron that came on rifles and appear to offer good service. Seeing how they compare to my Leupolds this year.

I used one for a while but always went back to small binoculars. Use what works best and get the results desired.

Some interesting information in the responses. I have a Check 527 in 223 that's very nice. A grade higher than the Serbian one out there. Am interested in iron sights down the road.

Have not used or even seen one of the Hawk scopes. Be interesting to hear more results from those who have them.
