Interesting thought, but I don't think so. In the video I spray a couple of bullets and add them to non-sprayed. I have since moved to spraying all bullets, it saves time and gets better results. My...

Rancher, I've never received any money from Youtube. I do have the occasional sponsor for match equipment, but those videos are very clear about that intent and the key there is credibility and...

It makes any powder stick to the bullet without static or long tumbling with or without BBs. You just add the powder, shake a few seconds and you're done. I always do 20lb bullets on one tray (thats...

I use the silicone dry tumbling method (in short, spray the bullets with silicone spray, add a teaspoon of powder and shake, then pour on a mesh and bake)....
Forum: Boolit Lube !
Forrest r, thank you for your extensive testing, that was just the kind of response I was hoping for.
I notice a clear increase in accuracy on my 2150 fps .308 Winchester load when using PC+lube...

Dan Lynch posted some very interesting shootouts some time ago where he fired .357 Mag with 180 grain bullets using lube, powder coating and both at the same time. In short, his conclusion was that...
I seem to have a newer SRH .454 since it does not have the dark grey tone, it is a polished stainless just like the .44 Mags.
The throats on mine are .455-.456. I have to use .458-bullets sized to...
Allright, so here's an update on what is new.
I have tested about 20 different loads with different powders and OAL combinations. Nothing has given groups tighter than 5" at 50 yards.
So I cut a...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Yes, such bullet weight would have a hard time to stabilize. What Im thinking here though is what would happen if you make a say 320gn .44 bullet with a chamber cast type of design, filling the...
Forum: Cast Boolits
My question for starting this thread is primarily related to designing a bullet that use the throat portion of the chamber for as much weight as possible outside the case for support and accuracy,...

The above design seem to be very common for the all in crazy hand cannon loads in .500 S&W where maximum weight and penetration is desired.
But the more I see them the more I think...

Didn't have any Red N Tacky left, but my usual lube is 50/50 beeswax / moly lithium grease, so I replaced the RNT with the black stuff.
I know we're not allowed to call deviations from the recipe by...
My Desert Eagle Mark I shot cloverleafs att 150 yards.
If load cast, make the bullets as Hard as possible and use gas checks. The Lee 310gn works great, shot many thousands of it with hot charges of...
Yes, I know the bullet must fit through die. What I'm wondering is if the die will still be able to crimp after lapping? :)
I have noticed that the front driving band gets sized by the Redding Profile Crimp. This makes the front band not having a snug fit. I am certain this affect accuracy. If I back the die out I loose...
If need be I can ream the cylinder throats myself, I've done a couple of dozens.
There's also the complication that I'm in Scandinavia and "Doug" is probably in the US. ;)
I do however believe I...
Mold beagled .001", then sized with the lapped die.
Definate improvement. Bullets are now snug in the throats.
However, they are still not uniform. I can accept that they are .412 on side and .413...
Lapped my sizing die up to .412".
Changed lube to Carnauba Red.
Next step will be beagling the mold, the bullets are not uniform at .412 but are .411 at one band and .410 at another. Also varies...
Water quenched and as cast (not sized) at ~.412. Hand lubed with same lube as all other tests (50/50 beeswax / lithium grease).
Still no difference in group size... But also still no leading.
This has to be first time I've handled a gun where a load ladder shows basically no difference in groupings.
Still no leading.
(sights adjusted 8 clicks down for elevation between groups)
Lube star on muzzle was not uniform, clearly portraiting an uneven gas flow, hence the lapping of the muzzle crown.
Primers used are CCI Large Pistol.
All bullets feel the same when seated....
Same load as before, but I ran a brass lap with some silicone carbide paste in the muzzle.
The higher point of impact may be to the retightening of the barrel after lapping the muzzle crown....
A Dan Wesson 741-VH with a 10" barrel landed in my safe the other day. Today I got the chance to try some loads.
The gun is probably made in the early 80's and the tape measure gave the barrel in at...

Yes, both the GS and I have the specs sheets from SAAMI and CIP. He claims his reamer is within that spec and that the job done is within tolerance. I however, claim that there is no possible way...
