I did clean the mold before use, Just a bit of steel wool on the sprue plate and pins and used a dry paper towel on the cavities and the faces.
I started out with a hotter alloy to get molds up...

I am hoping you guys can sort me out.
I am using a 4 cavity HP mold from NOE. .453 cal 200 grain.
The last time I used it mold, it was great, put out a pile of bullets and all was right with...

With the 40gr armscor bullets, I got to 10.2gr of H110 in converted LC brass. You can probably go a bit higher in factory TCM brass.
I tried to get the pistol to cycle with unique and it was a no...

I crimp in the groove after powder coating them. 4.5gr of unique gets them downrange accurately and super cheap.

Any update to this? I have an ingot that I did not make that did exactly what the OP says his did. I fished it out and threw it on the floor to cool. It definitely thudded and did not ring. My pot...

It is not hard to get 500 gr to 1200 FPS. Most people load down to subsonic loads with their 500 gr boolets. I believe I got mine up to 1375 fps using H335.

Hi Castboolits.
I am looking to see if it is possible to procure 6 pieces of 41 colt brass and 6 bullets, preferably lead to make 6 dummy rounds. And 2 pieces of 41 mag brass to help with the...

I started a load thread in this other forum. Did not gain a lot of traction. But I posted my data.

I have used H335 with...

So, tried out bullseye finally.
3.3 gr gave me just under 1100 FPS. Accuracy was ok. Nothing to write home about.
I was shooting pure linotype bullets. Very hard. So, I cast up some 12-13 bhn...

Ok, bullseye seems to be the consensus here.
When I get a few minutes, I will try out some bullseye loads.
I also ordered a .312" sizing die to get these things down to a reasonable size so I...

I may try bullseye some day. Right now, 9.6gr unique is working pretty good.

I would prefer not to have to deal with plain base gas checks with this bullet. I don't want to push it.
Also, I cast these out of pure linotype. I don't have any harder alloy.
I thought...

So, I started with 10 gr of unique on the advice of another forum. Accuracy was pretty good. Velocity was 1960 fps. I got some leading.
I tried lower charges. 8, 7, and 6 grains. Accuracy went...

Will that get it out of the barrel? Seems very low?

So, at the fun show today, I found a single cavity "30 cal 75 gr" mould for $20 made by lyman.
Looks like it was made for the 32 ACP or something. Cast up a bunch of them today out of linotype...

Good to see this thread again. I need to cast up some more of those little bullets and try again now that I moved and have my own private back yard range.

I ordered some surplus powder, MP580, bottle says to use IMR4451 data and reduce 10%.
Well, lets just say I should have reduced it about 20%. The rifle was undamaged, wish I had my chrono there...

I have used both a 330g and a 285g cast bullet in mine. Mixed results. I most definitely needed a gas check in both cases as the accuracy without them was abysmal.
I have only used H110 and H4198...

I have done a bunch of research on this subject OP. I do not have any physical experience as I have been trying to get my standard loads GTG first. The test I am planning on trying is a start load of...

I actually tried some 48gr PCC bullets. They were almost stable but not really. You could see elongated holes.
The 40gr Vmax bullets had to be single fed into the action as the magazine would not...

My accuracy has been ok, nothing to brag about on the internet. Sub squirrel at 50 yards. Maybe 1.5". Been a while since I tested them in the Chrimp vs no chrimp test. Chrimp was a clear winner.

My TCM rifle using 37g PCC bullets over 2.4g of unique averages 1357fps.
Hot loaded 40g vmax bullets over 11.2g of H110 get up to over 2800fps in the same rifle.

I, for one, would love to see novelty exploding bullets like the OP is talking about unregulated.
Along with suppressors, full auto, forward grips, short barrels, and just about everything else...

I use an NOE 37g mould. But I cast for the standard 22 TCM, not the 9R version. I think it would work just fine though. I load at 1.198" OAL.
