Congratulation to him and to you Bruce. This post made me think -- my son is presently a SSGT in the USAF. My generation was limited to my brief service in the USMCR; my dad was a USAAC/USAAF/USAF...

I have type II, diagnosed at age 55; I was expecting it as my dad and grandmother both had it. One daily Losartan pill, and being moderate at meal time, seems to manage it pretty well.

There's a really good lunch spot in Smead's Ferry which is not too far.

I can think of lots of people but I'll start with just one.... my mother-in-law, Louise.
She was already a widow when I started dating my wife. Her husband was a truck driver, hard working and on...

I've had my eyes open for a 444 for awhile. Haven't found one on a day I had money.

I haven't been on the board in some time, and am sorry to hear of this. I admired Junior's writings on his website and his spirit. RIP Junior, I looked up to you.

Dutch, I used to have flare ups 3 or 4 times a year. A few things I did:
1. For the very worst flareups, and "I gotta get better now to go to work", doc prescribed Indomethicin. Works but is not...

One of the reasons that engineers became famous ten decades back, and don't now, is that so many of our technical achievements are so large. It takes literally hundreds of engineers to design a car...
I like 12 of 2400 under 158 grains for lots of practice. I up it to 13.5 if I want more power. But I think the 12 grain load would kill a deer OK. Been using it for years.

I load some .38 for my .357s -- primarily for plinking practice for the kids and the wife. But the kids grew and the wife got used to recoil -- so I don't load much .38 anymore!

Good luck Bruce. Been through some of that, and it can sorely try your patience.

Really enjoy Skeeter and have both of his books. They sit in a nearby bookshelf where I can get to them quickly, and have been read thru a few times. I like his mix of practical shooting knowledge...

Some of the best Mexican food I have eaten was in Genoa, Oh (OH 163 and OH 51) and in downtown Port Clinton, Ohio near the charter docks. Both my kids and I had school friends whose families...

Sad. But we will hear of a few more this fall. Just like snowmobile and ATV accidents through ice or flipped in ditches. All our mechanical devices, from pocket knives to locomotives, deserve their...

Wouldn't call it gourmet, but a favorite side dish is a big bag of frozen shredded hash browns, mixed in a greased baking dish with liberal amounts of shredded cheese and sour cream. Goes good with...

Just correcting any potential misunderstanding -- by the time Willow Run started building B-24s Henry was largely senile. The production planning genius was provided by his lieutenants, most notably...

Mine was pretty good. I regret selling it. It shot better than I did.

I use around 12-13 grains Unique with 240 grains, should work ok with the heavier bullets too. My notes for Unique in 444 Marlin stop at 16 grains.
