Richhodg66, with that load the Bulldog is certainly NOT a range gun. But, shooting it enough to stay proficient and then mainly carrying it, the discomfort is short-lived.

I am a bit confused. The Alliant Powder page shows 9.5 grains of Unique as the max charge for both the 200 gr SWC and the 250 gr SWC. Is there an error, here?

Would it change anything if the boolit was more specifically the Lee 452-200-RF versus their 200 grain SWC?

On the Alliant Powder website it gives the following load:
.45 Colt
8.3 gr. Green Dot
CCI 300 primer
200 grain SWC
5.5" barrel

Is this load at or under 14,000 PSI?
