I just got my MP 9-147-FN-556 8 cavity. It is a truly beautiful mold. It's a "Lee 6 cavity" pattern mold, but with no corners cut to keep production costs down. Steel sprue plate, both sprue bolts...
I just received a Lyman 358432 148gn SWC 2 cavity. According to the date on the booklet in the packaging, it even older than I am. The date says 3-1-75.

If the cavity spacing is the same for each of the 6 cavity and each of the 8 cavity molds, you could whip up a jig with a few stops and just walk the mold down the jig to hit each cavity. Then at...

Sized some 30-30. More tweaking/testing on the 3d printer. And, now I've been reminded I have a PID for my casting pot that has been sitting in a drawer for a couple years waiting to be finished,...

I would agree with gzig5. A lathe, a 4 jaw, and a small boring bar is the way I would go. Assuming I was going to do it, that is.

Today was tweaking the 3d printer, trying to eliminate some stringing issues, so I can one day print out my bullet/case feeders...

Sized some 300BO, and sorted out some extra reloading gear.

Finally set up my Loadmaster. After setup and a small test run, I knocked out 400 9mm at a rate of 300/hour. A progressive press is definitely the way to go for volume reloading.

MidwayUSA has the Lyman 4 cavity 175tc on sale and in stock. I haven't shot any yet, but it casts well.

Midway actually has this kit in stock as I type this. (Not trying to undermine the sale, or anything.)

Can't be done. The sig is longer than the .40. You'd have to stretch the brass something like. 015" IIRC.

DeRIMMING, not dePRIMING. It's the first step after annealing in making 22cal jackets for swaging out of spent 22rimfire cases. It is done with a die like a Lee push through sizer and a "pin" that...
On a new mold it shouldn't be an issue, but the sprue plates do bend fairly easily. If it is bent there will be more force applied at the hold down bolt, causing more wear on the sprue plate. Several...

Cast some 158g SWCs for my .357, some 175g TCs for my 10mm. Now to trim some 5.56 to get them out of my loading blocks so I can do the .357s tomorrow.
I picked up a Lyman 4 cavity 175gn TC to feed my new 10mm with.
My first non-Lee mold. The price differential is pretty steep, but it certainly has a higher quality "feel."
We'll see how it...
I know that for my new .40/175TC Lyman 4 cavity I had to thin the Lee handles as well as enlarge the hole to 7/32 for the mold pins to pass through.

Well, I just found another project to add to my list, lol. I'll definitely be making one (or several) of these in the future...
