Get a lyman shot shell reloading manual. That will have all the data you will need. As far as cheap buckshot loads I use target data and just replace with buck. I don't use a buffer. I believe the...

I've been shooting claybuster wads for 20+years. I don't see a reason to shoot name brand wads unless you want to brag about how much money you force out the end of the barrel. As far as plastic...
I would treat like processing gold concentration. Show be able to use a sluies to wash out the remaining rocks/sand. The steel shot and magnitite can be taken out with a magnet. I would think a...

I use old cotton t shirts . I have checked for thickness and they are around 15 thousands. Close enough for my shooting.

Murphy's wood soap and rubbing alcohol 50/50 mix. Cheap and available at any store.
Good job. I don't worry about size. It all shoots good.
If it touches the ramp it will cool the ramp or super heat the coolant. You need to have an overflow container so the coolant spills out of what the shot drops into. Next you will find the coolant...
You need to have no more than a 1/4" drop to the coolant. Good luck it works for me.
Thanks fellas, I shot 95/100 with one perfect. It's definitely worth the effort to make for me. Although it puts a real dent in my lead supply.
For all you fellows wondering if home made shot is as good as factory shot, I shot my first 25 strait with my homemade shot last Saturday.
I use Preston low tox. It's a concentrate and I mix about 50/50.
I tried RV antifreeze and found out it was to light, meaning to much water. All I got was snow flakes.
My home made shot is not perfect but I have shot factory shells compared to my reloaded shells and they patern the same. I shot into a patterning board at 40yds.
I have to admit I was not sure if...
Just get a dog or 2. It's a much safer way of home defence than risking shooting a family member.

Murphy soap and rubbing alcohol 50/50. It cleans with every shot and it is super cheap.

I love mine.Shot a match with it last month. I use a .315 RB with a 15 thousandth patch. Shot 25 rounds with no wiping at all. 3 f Swiss 15 gr. It will shoot the center out of a playing card at...
We use my homemade shot today. I missed just as many times as I do with store bought. Lol
I would say 2 things.
1st you could be running the lead at to high of temperature . I run temperature between 600 and 625 degrees .
2nd , I found the RV antifreeze is to light to work well....
Use the concentrate coolant not the mix. found that out 1st hand.
My shot maker's instructions said to sand the ramp to 600 grit and then use soap stone on the ramp. I did not have any 600 so I used 1500 grit and it worked very well. I made a stand out of light...
Don't get the Walmart brand RV antifreeze ,it's to light and does not work well. I am almost using the antifreeze strait out of the bottle. Get the concentrate not the mix.
I just used what I had on hand . Preston low toxic. the instructions recommend RV antifreeze. I got some to try today because it was cheap at Walmart and non toxic. I do not think that is very...
I made stand that allowed the weed burner to be under the ladle. the clearances are tite to get the coolant under the ramp and with in a 1/4" of the bottom .
I am going to make a radiator of...
