Beautiful work there.
Actually, it turned out to be a pretty heavy rifle, so I will probably shoot it for a few months, then sell it to some young fellow. Too heavy for me to carry around long!
I'm already plotting on building another with a slim profile swamped Getz .50 barrel and a Cochran lock I have. It should be a pound or two lighter.
This is my chance to confess my ignorance- what is a swamped barrel?

That's what I suspected; now I know. Thanks.
My goodness....exquisite is the word that comes to mind. Stunning, absolutely stunning, all of the kit!!!! I've always had a very soft spot for Southern Mountain/Poor Boy's and haven't been without one since the earliest 80's. Living down here where squirrels are my main game they've always been 36's.
When we lived on the Wyoming/Idaho border we never worried about having a white Christmas....and usually had a white Thanksgiving. The question was always whether or not we'd have a white 4th of July. Fireworks are particularly lovely in a heavy snow storm. 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad skiing was the mantra.
Swamped barrel.......26 inch?
Ric, nice work as usual. Here in Wis. we are having some "alert" days this weekend. 6-12" snow mid-State, not quite as much for us. Coldest-ever start of April!
Ok, fat fingered the 2 instead of the 3.
So what's your weight estimate with the 42?
Looks great Waksupi.
Another beauty! I was thinking of you recently and wondered what you might be building this winter? I don't know how you older fellas eyes work at small details as such. A real treat to see it!
Outstanding work Waksupi!
